According to Hanoi National University Director Le Quan, a business can start from small steps, when encountering a favorable environment it will develop, creating a new investment environment.
This was shared by Prof. Dr. Le Quan at the launching ceremony of the Innovation and Startup Incubator, Hanoi National University, which took place this morning (December 18).
The Director of Hanoi National University said that he will invest, screen and provide financial and legal support for successful start-up projects. Hanoi National University has devoted many resources to applied research, but after the research, who will commercialize and how?
"For example, last year there were topics that cost billions of dong but the professors could not answer the question "what is the purpose of the research?". Scientists just researched and then left it there, which was a waste of both effort and budget. Therefore, we need to connect, starting with placing orders with businesses before doing research," Professor Le Quan affirmed.

According to Mr. Quan, startups can start from the smallest things, but it is a cell for replication, when meeting favorable conditions and environments, it will create value and increase rapidly. Talking about startups means talking about added value. Startups are associated with innovation, knowledge, science and technology, because only innovation and creativity can create added value.
"There are scientists I have met who have been struggling with their research for decades. They have researched many good things, but those things cannot be sold," Mr. Quan said, adding that even with the same product, the way to approach the market is very important. Therefore, scientists need to choose products that are closer to businesses and the market.
According to him, to realize those research ideas, there needs to be a forum that connects businesses, management experts with scientists and students. From there, we will move towards the goal of operational management, bringing research products from the lab to the market.
"The Hanoi National University's Innovation and Startup Incubator is a trusted address where scientists and students share projects and ideas with businesses in the spirit of daring to think and dare to do, and is a bridge to bring products from the research lab to serve the community," Mr. Quan emphasized and suggested that in the coming time, the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support will seek and support key research topics.
Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Ngoc Kiem, Director of the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support, presented the decision to Mr. Tran Phi Long, Director of the Innovation and Startup Incubator of Hanoi National University.
