Having just started summer vacation, many parents and students have been busy shopping for books, notebooks, uniforms, school supplies... to prepare for the new school year 2023-2024 for their children, making the market bustling.

According to representatives of some bookstores in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, some schools have announced the list of textbooks, so since the beginning of June, many parents and students have come to buy books, notebooks, and school supplies to prepare for the new school year 2023-2024. Mr. Nguyen Huu Loi, Director of Ninh Thuan Books and School Equipment Joint Stock Company, said: The textbooks have been published completely. Next school year, grades 4, 8, and 11 will change to new textbooks, so the number of books will be more than last year. Therefore, the company imported books early to have enough supply for students in schools in the area. All types of books are sold at the listed cover price, the average price of each set of textbooks from primary to high school ranges from 320,000-370,000 VND/set (depending on the choice of each school).

For school equipment and supplies such as backpacks, school bags, fountain pens, ballpoint pens, pencil cases, highlighters, small boards, etc., there are many new models in terms of design, color, and material, and most of them are products of domestic brands. Mr. Nguyen Van Quynh Hung, manager of Nhan Van Bookstore, said: Every year, suppliers such as Hong Ha, Thien Long, etc. launch many new school supplies to the market so that students and parents have more choices. Even notebooks come in many types, from paper material, thickness, size, to price. This year in particular, notebooks with pre-wrapped cardboard priced from 6,000-15,000 VND/book are chosen by many parents.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hien, in Phuoc My Ward (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) shared: Learning from previous years' experience, this year I did not wait until the last day of the school year to buy books, notebooks, and school supplies, to avoid the situation of having difficulty choosing enough books. Each school chooses a different set of books, so when the school announced, I went to the bookstore to buy them right away.

Parents of students choose to buy textbooks at Nhan Van Bookstore (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City).

Not only shopping directly at bookstores, many parents and students choose to order online through e-commerce platforms to receive goods at home and enjoy preferential programs. However, to choose quality products that meet requirements, the authorities recommend that parents and students should buy books and school supplies at reputable addresses to avoid cases of exchanging, returning or buying old books, books that have not been censored.

Along with books, notebooks, and school supplies, student uniforms are also being put on shelves by tailors and suppliers, ready to serve the needs of students in the new school year. According to businesses and suppliers of student uniforms in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, from mid-June onwards, the demand for student uniforms will increase, so the establishments are preparing their supplies.

Ms. Phung Thi Thoi Gian, owner of Thoi Gian sewing and uniform shop on Nguyen Van Troi Street (Phan Rang - Thap Cham City) said: The price of ready-made uniforms is 50,000-80,000 VND/set cheaper than custom-made ones. Compared to previous years, this year the price of this item has not increased. Specifically, each ready-made uniform (blue pants, white shirt) for students from primary to high school costs about 200,000-370,000 VND/set (depending on size). Dresses for female students cost about 120,000-200,000 VND/piece; skirts 80,000-120,000 VND/piece; single shirts 75,000-180,000 VND/piece; long pants range from 90,000-170,000 VND/piece. Like every year, this year's student uniforms are no less diverse in style and design, with two popular colors: white and dark blue; fabric materials are Korean silk, khaki, kate, ribbed linen...

It is known that from now until mid-July, for school uniforms, some supermarkets and stores in the area will implement a program of 10-15% discount per product, 10-20% discount on total order value. The establishments also increased the quantity of goods by 20-30% compared to last year to serve the needs of students in the coming school year.
