Solve for Tomorrow is a competition for middle and high school students (with teacher guidance), encouraging them to proactively research and apply STEM education to solve local problems.

In Vietnam, the Solve for Tomorrow competition was first held in 2019. Up to now, the competition has become an annual creative thinking playground for middle and high school students aged 12 to 18. As of 2022, the program has attracted the participation of 165,000 registered students and teachers.

With the desire to popularize STEM, and at the same time further promote activities to nurture technology talents - one of the important foundations in the country's future development, this year, for the first time, Samsung carried out a roadshow, directly launching the program in many regions.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Le Thi Bich Thuan - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City affirmed: "With the constant development needs of the new era, the 4.0 Industrial Revolution has led to an explosion in the demand for jobs in the information technology industry and opened up many opportunities for young people with interests and passion for pursuing technology. Equipping knowledge and skills through experiences in competitions in the field of information technology will help students gain valuable experiences and a solid foundation to build their dreams and opportunities to choose jobs in the future."

Mr. Kim Yong Sup, Deputy General Director of External Affairs of Samsung Vietnam Complex, said that with the pioneering spirit and the desire to bring opportunities to access comprehensive knowledge to middle school and high school students, Samsung Vietnam plans to continuously expand the breadth and depth of the Solve for Tomorrow contest. The Group aims to reach all students across the entire territory of Vietnam and organize useful and practical training activities for all of them.

In recent years, Da Nang has been one of the localities with a strong STEM movement, so the Solve For Tomorrow competition has always received enthusiastic response and participation from many teams from this city.

The roadshow program to launch the competition in Da Nang this year is one of Samsung's efforts to join hands with Da Nang to further promote the STEM movement, while bringing the program closer to students and teachers from the Central region.

According to the plan, after Da Nang, the roadshow series will end in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2023. It is expected that the number of students and teachers registering and the number of entries this year will double compared to 2022. Specifically, it is expected that 140,000 students and teachers will register and more than 2,000 entries will be sent from secondary and high schools across the country.

This year, Solve for Tomorrow 2023 in Vietnam will be implemented for 7 months, from April 12 to November 11, and will be divided into two groups: Group A for middle school students, and Group B for high school students, with 3 rounds of competition. Students will apply STEM knowledge and design thinking to find and realize creative solutions to address existing social problems.

The teams that make it to the TOP 40 will also be guided by a team of senior professional advisors who are Samsung experts and employees, and will have the opportunity to hone their soft skills through special workshops within the framework of the program.

In particular, Samsung also increased the scale of the prizes for participating schools and students. Specifically, the total prize value of this year's competition will increase to nearly 8 billion VND with many attractive prize categories. In particular, in order to further improve the quality of STEM teaching and learning in Vietnam, schools with teams winning the first prize will be sponsored by Samsung with a functional classroom - STEM Lab worth more than 1 billion VND.
