The eight League A teams that have advanced to the quarter-finals of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League include Spain, Germany, France and Portugal (group winners), while Italy, the Netherlands, Croatia and Denmark (group runners-up).
The teams will be drawn with the group winners facing the group runners-up. Teams that have been drawn in the same group cannot meet each other (for example, Portugal cannot face Croatia because they are in Group A1). In the quarter-finals, the matches will be played on a home and away basis. The group winners will have the advantage of playing the second leg at home.
The UEFA Nations League quarter-finals will take place on 20 and 23 March 2025. The semi-finalists will play in one of the four participating nations on 4 and 5 June 2025. The final and third-place play-off will take place on the same day, 8 June 2025.
Spain are the reigning champions of the tournament after defeating Croatia in 2023 on penalties in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Therefore, Luis de la Fuente's team is highly regarded to successfully defend its title.
On the same day, UEFA also drew the semi-finals and the promotion/relegation play-offs for the remaining divisions. Notably, the English team, with a record of 5 wins and 1 loss in League B, topped Group B2 and was promoted back to League A from next season. Similarly, the Norwegian team, with striker Erling Haaland contributing 7 goals, also topped Group B3 to be promoted to League A.
