Right from the beginning of the year, the leaders of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station have mobilized reporters and editors to propose topics and subjects to participate in the Central and ministerial press awards; assigned authors and groups of authors to develop detailed outlines, clearly defining the genre and type for each work.

Leaders of press agencies have directed reporters and editors to closely follow the resolutions of the Central Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Party Standing Committee on Party building and the political system to determine the themes and genres for each award and each work. The themes selected for the Central Press Awards are key issues, deeply reflecting the new, creative ways and outstanding results of Tuyen Quang province in Party building and the political system; and the implementation of Party resolutions in all areas of social life.

This year is the second consecutive year that Tuyen Quang Newspaper has won the National Press Award. The series of articles "Forest carbon credits - Opportunities to create green growth resources" by the group of authors Ngo Thi Thu Ha - Tran Thi Lien - Doan Thi Thu - Hua Thanh Thuy was honored to receive the C prize of the 2023 National Press Award, which was presented tonight, June 21, 2024.

Journalist Doan Thi Thu, Tuyen Quang Newspaper shared: “The most difficult thing when participating in the national press competition is choosing the topic. The topic of the series of articles was carefully oriented by the Editorial Board, closely following the Party's resolutions on forestry economic development. The topic of forestry economic development in Tuyen Quang is not new, but when analyzing in depth the opportunities for developing the forest economy from carbon credits, it is a new topic and a necessary direction in the future if we want to develop a green economy. From this idea, with the guidance of the Editorial Board, we worked together to elaborately build the script, find valuable stories and details to include in the series of articles.”

Committed to quality work

To reap the “sweet fruit” in each season, the leadership team of press agencies, reporters, and editors have not hesitated to embark on difficult and urgent topics. Journalists who have worked day and night to perfect their works to participate in the Central Press Awards must produce high-quality works that breathe life, deeply reflecting the results of implementing the Party’s resolutions in life.

Recalling the memories of making the TV series "Fire" in the Mong village, the group of authors Giang Thanh - Sy Tung - Trung Thanh - Quynh Hoa, the Provincial Radio and Television Station had to "raise" their characters for 3 years, many times had to go to Sinh Long to learn, meet, and film the Secretary of the Mong commune Party Committee Sung Van Ky. Journalist Giang Thanh, the Provincial Radio and Television Station shared: "Sometimes when I brought the pictures back, I felt it was not enough and had to go to Sinh Long even if it was just to film one frame. In the report, many scenes had to be filmed at night, we also had to stay awake and choose unique angles, using images to say more than commentary". The work "Fire" in the Mong village by the group of authors won the C prize of the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award. Journalist Giang Thanh shared that through this work, she wanted to spread the examples of cadres in ethnic minority areas who are wholeheartedly caring for the people day and night.

Journalist Ma Ngoc Hung, Tuyen Quang Newspaper, had to travel to mountainous communes many times to learn about the impact of the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, the effectiveness of the supervision work of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council to carry out a series of articles participating in the Dien Hong Award. Journalist Ma Ngoc Hung shared: "I am always concerned with the topic of how the resolutions of the Provincial People's Council reach the people, what they bring to the people and where the difficulties and problems are. Therefore, even though I have to go to remote and difficult communes, I never feel tired."

With the meticulous and methodical investment of the leaders of the press agencies and the writers who are not afraid to take risks of the team of journalists, reporters and editors, many major seasons have been and will be successful. From there, the pioneering role of the press agencies in the province in the work of building the Party and the political system has been affirmed.

- 2023: Marks 4 consecutive years that Tuyen Quang Newspaper won the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, including 3 consecutive years winning the B prize.

- Up to now, Tuyen Quang Newspaper has won the National Press Award for 2 consecutive years, in which it won the Encouragement Award in 2022 and the C Award in 2023.

2023: The Provincial Radio and Television Station won 1 C Prize of the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award; 1 B Prize at the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the topic of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period of 2021 - 2023; Dien Hong Encouragement Prize and Gold and Silver Medals at the 41st National Television Festival.

- In early 2024, Tuyen Quang Newspaper won 2 Encouragement prizes at the National Press Award on Youth Union work and youth and children's movements in 2024.
