The passing of General Khamtai Siphandone is a great loss to the Party, State and people of Laos; leaving behind infinite sorrow for the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam province - where the General was closely attached during the arduous years of resistance against French colonialism to liberate Lower Laos.
The contributions and dedication of General Khamtai Siphandone to the special solidarity and friendship between the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos are deeply engraved in the Lower Laos Resistance Zone (Phu Ninh district). We believe that the Lao Party, State and people will soon overcome the pain to continue the cause of national construction and development."
