On June 26, Mr. Vo Cong Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dat Mui Commune (Ngoc Hien District, Ca Mau Province) said that the exploitation of clam seeds in the Mui Ca Mau National Park has "cooled down", no longer as complicated as a few days ago.
Exploiting clam seeds in Mui Ca Mau National Park area |
According to Mr. Truong, in recent days, local authorities have focused on mobilizing, propagating and visiting households illegally exploiting clam seeds in Mui Ca Mau National Park to request them to make a commitment not to violate. At the same time, authorities also requested traders not to buy and sell clam seeds illegally exploited in Mui Ca Mau National Park.
Over the past week, when clam seeds appeared, hundreds of boats (equipped with suction machines) came to Mui Ca Mau National Park to exploit. There were days when more than 120 boats participated in exploitation. Illegal exploitation of clam seeds affects aquatic resources and threatens to disrupt security and order.
Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has directed functional units to coordinate with the authorities of Ngoc Hien district to stabilize security and order, strengthen local management, closely monitor the situation to promptly prevent and strictly handle cases causing insecurity and disorder (if any), and avoid the emergence of hot spots.
