Driving force for sustainable development in the North Central region

On the morning of April 4, Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment to organize a workshop on "Green transformation: Driving force for sustainable development in the North Central region".

Attending the event were comrades Le Duc Giang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Chu Pham Ngoc Hien, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Clean Water and Environment; representatives of relevant departments and branches of the provinces in the North Central region; leading experts in the field of environment, and pioneering enterprises in green transformation.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Chu Pham Ngoc Hien, Chairman of the Vietnam Clean Water and Environment Association, said: The North Central region has a strategic geographical location, rich in potential for developing marine economy, sustainable agriculture and renewable energy. Green transformation will create a strong driving force to promote economic growth, improve the quality of living environment and ensure sustainable development. The workshop aimed to assess the current status of green transformation in the North Central region, the achievements as well as the difficulties and challenges that localities and businesses are facing. At the same time, discuss policies and support mechanisms from the Central and local levels to promote the green transformation process and develop a circular economy. Along with that, the workshop listened to practical experiences from businesses and pioneering models in green transformation to replicate and implement more effectively.

At the workshop, experts discussed topics such as: Policy orientation on green transformation and sustainable development in Vietnam. Financial, technological and human resource solutions for the green economy, suggestions for the North Central region. Building sustainable agricultural development associated with digital transformation and green transformation in the period of 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045 in Thanh Hoa province. Double-digit growth target associated with industrial development in Thanh Hoa province. Technology in the circular economic model with agricultural waste; developing green credit in agriculture and industry...

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang emphasized: Green transformation is becoming an inevitable trend globally, especially in the context of climate change and increasing environmental pollution. The North Central region in general and Thanh Hoa province in particular are facing many challenges, but there are also many opportunities for sustainable development based on green solutions and modern technology.
