Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway is in the final stage, requiring contractors to be proactive in materials, increase equipment, machinery, and workers to ensure compliance with the approved construction plan.
On March 21, My Thuan Project Management Board inspected and urged the construction progress and the implementation of the pilot project, forced loading by heavy trucks of the North-South expressway project phase 2021-2025, Can Tho - Ca Mau section.
Construction of IC2 intersection is part of Can Tho - Hau Giang component project.
According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, the total construction output of the project has reached 62.1%. Contractors have treated weak soil according to the loading plan for more than 84.21km. Of which, the Can Tho - Hau Giang section is more than 32.61km, and the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section is more than 51.6km.
Regarding bridges, 63 bridges have completed their decks, of which 12 bridges are open to technical traffic.
My Thuan Project Management Board and contractors strive to complete concrete slabs of the remaining 34 bridges by April 30.
For the main route, in March 2025, the loading work will be basically completed and the first section will begin unloading. From here, contractors will carry out the construction of the road surface structure in parallel with the unloading of the sections. By December 31, the entire main route will be completed.

Also according to the My Thuan Project Management Board, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Transport, now the Ministry of Construction, the unit has organized the implementation of a pilot project, forcing loading by a convoy of heavy trucks on the roadbed waiting to subside, treating weak soil with wicks combined with pre-loading.
The pilot section from Km58+200 - Km58+600 belongs to the Hau Giang - Ca Mau component project. Of which, 200m of the route does not have a forced loading pilot to serve as a comparison section.
Through on-site inspection, My Thuan Project Management Board requested contractors to urgently mobilize sufficient volume of crushed stone aggregate to the construction site before June 30 to proactively provide materials, increase equipment, machinery, and workers to ensure compliance with the approved construction plan.

At the same time, organize overtime to complete asphalt pavement, expansion joints and bridgeheads on the route, ensuring the goal of opening the entire main route by April 30. For sections that are eligible for unloading, organize construction of the transmission lines, and complete the road surface foundation and traffic safety system and median strips as they are constructed.
Regarding the pilot forced loading by heavy truck fleet, My Thuan Project Management Board said that it will continue to coordinate with the outline unit, the supervision unit, and the pilot construction unit to continue reviewing the pilot results and report to the Ministry of Construction.
The project started in January 2023. The project is in the acceleration phase to complete the target in 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister.
