Opening of exhibition about the life and career of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen

(QBĐT) - On the morning of March 24, at Luong The Vinh High School (Ba Don Town), Quang Binh General Museum held the opening ceremony of the thematic exhibition "Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen - Life and career".

The exhibition attracted the participation of many teachers and students of Luong The Vinh High School.

The exhibition introduces historical documents and images about the life and revolutionary career of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen - an outstanding son of his hometown Quang Binh, a talented general of the Truong Son Army.

The exhibition is divided into four parts: Homeland and family; The imprint of Truong Son road - Ho Chi Minh road on the "fire land" of Quang Binh; Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen with Party and State leaders and foreign affairs activities; Homeland sentiment and comradely affection.

Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen (1923-2019) was born in Quang Trung commune, Quang Trach district (now Ba Don town). His life and career were associated with glorious victories in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism.

In particular, as Commander of the Truong Son Army, he made creative decisions, contributing to ensuring the strategic transport route of Ho Chi Minh Trail was always open, making an important contribution to the victory of the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The exhibition attracted the attention of students.

After the country's reunification, he continued to take on many important responsibilities, making great contributions to the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland.

The exhibition is an opportunity to pay tribute to the great contributions of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen to the Vietnamese revolution; at the same time, it is an opportunity to educate the younger generation about revolutionary ideals, patriotic traditions, and national pride, and to encourage the spirit of following the example of previous revolutionary generations in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen (March 1, 1923 - March 1, 2025), the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
