Mongolia officially exempts visas for Vietnamese tourists from March 7, 2024.
On March 4, the Mongolian government announced a list of visa-exempt countries, including Vietnam. This list officially took effect from March 7. Accordingly, Vietnamese citizens entering Mongolia for a stay of no more than 30 days will be exempt from visas. Ms. Ho Thi Phuong - Director of Premier Tour Travel Company - said that the procedure for applying for a Mongolian visa is not complicated, and from the beginning of 2023, Vietnamese visitors can apply for an e-visa. Currently, with the new visa exemption policy, Vietnamese visitors can save more money when traveling to Mongolia. Previously, Vietnamese visitors to Mongolia needed to apply for a visa or e-visa, costing 25 USD and additional fees. "Mongolia tours always have a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese visitors, partly because of the beautiful landscape, friendly people and interesting cultural features," said Ms. Phuong. Blogger Nguyen Thuy Trang believes that Mongolia is the destination that Vietnamese tourists should visit in 2024. "Currently, this country has free visas and direct flights, which is very suitable for Vietnamese tourists to explore this pristine, beautiful land," she said.

In November 2023, Vietnam and Mongolia signed a bilateral visa exemption agreement. This agreement contributes to expanding trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange cooperation between the two countries. From the end of 2023, the Ulaanbaatar - Nha Trang flight route will be put into operation to meet the travel needs of Mongolian people and tourists to Nha Trang, Vietnam and vice versa./.
