From April 28 (9.3 lunar calendar), people and tourists come to Hung Temple to prepare to participate in the main festival of Hung Kings' death anniversary (10.3 lunar calendar).
The number of visitors to Hung Temple since the opening day of the festival is considered to be lower than in previous years. One day before the main Hung King Commemoration Day, the flow of people has increased but there has not been any overcrowding leading to jostling or pushing. The roads leading to the temple, tourist attractions, worship sites, and fairgrounds are all quite clear. When entering Hung Temple, visitors are guided to go from Ha Temple, Trung Temple to Thuong Temple and then go down the Gieng Temple route, there is no two-way up and down situation causing congestion. There is no longer a situation where people throw money into lakes or wells. According to the regulations of the relic management board, people and tourists are not allowed to throw money into wells, ponds, lakes... to avoid waste, environmental pollution, and impact on animals. QR codes are attached at historical sites to promote tourism in a smart and modern way. Ms. Lan (62 years old, Viet Tri) said that every year she comes here on this occasion to offer incense and worship. "This year, the number of tourists coming here is not as crowded as every year, sometimes only half compared to before the pandemic. The activities take place smoothly and enthusiastically, attracting people not only in Viet Tri, Phu Tho but also from all over the country. This is also a source of pride for people from Phu Tho like us," she said. On both sides of the road, shops have sprung up, actively inviting tourists to buy offerings and Phu Tho specialties as gifts such as banh chung, banh giay, sour meat, etc. Visitors choose to buy cakes and fruits for offerings at prices ranging from 25,000 VND to 50,000 VND per item. There is no haggling. In the hot afternoon, many people began to spread mats under the shade in the relic site for convenient eating and resting. As the evening progressed, the number of visitors to Hung Temple increased. Outside, there was not much space left for motorbikes. Electric cars also operated continuously to serve the travel needs of visitors.
