Results of Thanh Hang's accusation against Hoang Thuy to the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications has just issued an official dispatch responding to Thanh Hang's request.

On December 12, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City responded to supermodel Thanh Hang's request to handle false information on model Hoang Thuy's Facebook account.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications said that after reviewing the petition and checking the facts, the Department invited relevant individuals to work. According to the document, during the working session on December 3, Hoang Thi Thuy (model Hoang Thuy) explained that Thanh Hang was not related to the posts denouncing her being oppressed in her profession.

Specifically, Hoang Thuy explained that the snake symbol or the names of the films Chi Chi Em Em and My Nhan Ke in the Facebook posts were used to describe the story. As for mentioning Thanh Hang, the 2017 Miss Universe Vietnam runner-up said that there are many people with the same name.

Hoang Thuy said the content of the Facebook posts denouncing oppression in the profession did not mention Thanh Hang.

After receiving the response from the HCM City Department of Information and Communications, Thanh Hang said she had mixed feelings. She was happy that her petition had been taken into account by the authorities, processed and clarified some of the story. However, Thanh Hang did not feel satisfied. "I have needed an apology for a long time, but it is not important now. I know that the authorities have done their best to bring about a clean social networking environment. Now I will only focus on my expertise and definitely not pay attention to unworthy matters outside," she said.

Previously, Thanh Hang sent a complaint against Hoang Thuy to the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City and several other competent authorities, requesting legal support to resolve and handle individuals and groups of people who provided and disseminated false information, affecting her honor.

The source of the incident came from Hoang Thuy posting a status sharing about the incident of losing the opportunity to sit on the hot seat of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024. Accordingly, the runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 posted a screenshot of a message with someone, which contained the content: "Thanh Hang doesn't want..." (roughly translated: Thanh Hang doesn't want) with the shared line: "What does it matter if I sit on the main jury board?". In the posts, Hoang Thuy used the hashtags "Chi chi em em", "My nhan ke" - the names of famous movies in which Thanh Hang played the main role, and the snake symbol. The post was widely shared, leading many people to believe that Thanh Hang was the person Hoang Thuy mentioned in the incident of forcing her to leave the hot seat of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024.

In the complaint, Thanh Hang wrote: "This action of Ms. Thuy is no longer insinuating but directly mentioning my name, aiming to direct public opinion to attack and slander me as the one who caused the incident that caused her to not be a member of the program's jury." The supermodel said she was attacked by many people on social networks. Some extremists even flooded the fanpage of the brand she represents to call for a boycott and contract cancellation.
