According to Android Authority , YouTube is conducting a limited test, bringing a pretty interesting new feature to a small group of Premium users. Accordingly, they will be able to share ad-free video links with friends who are not yet subscribed to the service. This move is seen as Google's effort to improve the content sharing experience and could be a way to introduce the benefits of the YouTube Premium package.

YouTube attracts more Premium users in a new way
YouTube ads have always been a controversial topic; some people are willing to pay for Premium for a seamless experience, while others look for ways to avoid them. This new experimental feature could make it easier for Premium users to share uninterrupted video viewing with their friends.
According to Android Police , Premium users who are participating in the test will see an additional 'Share ad-free' option appear next to the familiar 'Share' button when watching videos. However, there are a few points to note:
- Each Premium user participating in the test can create up to 10 ad-free sharing links per month.
- Each shared link can be viewed ad-free by non-Premium friends up to 10 times. After that, the video will show ads as normal to that viewer.
- The system will automatically detect if the link recipient is already a Premium subscriber and their views will not count towards the sender's limit of 10 views/link or 10 links/month.
What does YouTube Vietnam do to retain creators after 10 years of development?
However, this is a small-scale, geographically limited test. Currently, the feature is only available in six countries: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Türkiye, and the United Kingdom. Only a small portion of Premium users in these markets have been selected to experience it and provide feedback.
There’s no official word from YouTube on plans to expand the test or roll out the feature more widely in the future. If successful, this could be a fun way for Premium users to spread the word about the ad-free YouTube experience and encourage their friends to consider upgrading.
