Expanding job opportunities
Taking place at the end of April, the job fair organized by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the People's Committee of Lam Thao district attracted 33 companies, enterprises, vocational training institutions, universities and colleges in and outside the province, along with over 1,500 workers, students and pupils interested in finding job opportunities.
At the festival, representatives of units and enterprises introduced and shared experiences in human resource training, job creation, exchanged and discussed information related to a number of issues such as: Future development trends of the labor market, enrollment and recruitment needs of schools and enterprises. The job consulting booths at the festival helped students and workers in the district have the opportunity to expand, approach reality, receive advice, and orient their work in accordance with their abilities and conditions.
As one of the educational institutions that regularly participate in the job fair in Phu Tho province, Mr. Nguyen Thang - Admissions consultant of Hanoi College of Economics and Technology said: Through the job fair in the provinces and cities, we want to bring vocational training and employment opportunities after graduation to students, with 27 training majors, including key majors such as accounting, information technology, culinary arts, e-commerce and marketing; training human resources at all levels from elementary, intermediate, college, university, master's with sufficient technical expertise and skills to meet the labor needs at home and abroad.
Nguyen Ngoc Yen Nhi - Student of class 12A6, Phong Chau High School, Lam Thao district shared: Coming to the job fair, my friends and I have access to many vocational schools and businesses in and outside the province, helping me realize that choosing a career and learning a trade is very important, so that I can choose a major and career that suits me.
Faced with the development of the labor market, in order to diversify vocational education orientation activities, meet the recruitment needs of businesses as well as support workers in finding suitable jobs, schools, businesses, and the Provincial Employment Service Center have proactively promoted enrollment, innovated job consulting and introduction methods with many diverse, rich, and flexible forms.
In fact, from the job exchange, many workers have found suitable jobs with stable income, many middle and high school students have also been advised on vocational training according to their needs, meeting the requirements of finding jobs after graduation. Since the beginning of the year, the number of employed workers in the province has increased by 10,642 people, reaching 64.5% of the annual plan, 1,431 laborers have been exported, reaching 57.24% of the annual plan, and at the same time, 162 projects have been lent from the National Employment Fund, creating, maintaining and expanding jobs for 178 workers. The rate of workers who have received vocational training and vocational training is 71.5%, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates is 30.5%.
According to the review of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the demand for labor recruitment in the first 6 months of the year is about 7,000 workers, mainly enterprises operating in the fields of electronics and garment. It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, enterprises in the province will need to recruit about 10,000-12,000 more people.

Strengthening supply-demand connection
To strengthen connectivity, solve employment for workers, meet the needs of businesses and educational institutions, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has implemented plans on job creation in the province for the period of 2021-2025 and orientation to 2030 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Employment and Labor Export; plan to develop the provincial labor market for the period of 2021-2025; plan to deploy labor supply for businesses for the period of 2022-2025 of the Provincial People's Committee.
Along with that, the Department of Employment - Labor Safety (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) and the Employment Service Center have organized job fairs on the 15th of every month, and specialized and periodic job fairs in districts, cities and towns.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the Center provided consultation to 22,850 people, introduced domestic jobs to 2,359 people; coordinated with the Provincial Police and the Provincial Youth Union to organize a career consultation program, introducing jobs to 186 union members and young people who are non-commissioned officers and conscripts who have completed their service in the People's Public Security; coordinated with the People's Committees of Thanh Thuy and Lam Thao districts to organize training and propaganda conferences on employment and labor export policies for 600 laborers, war invalids and social workers, social work collaborators, secretaries and deputy secretaries of the commune Youth Union and heads of residential areas.
Along with collecting and updating information on labor supply and demand every year, it has contributed to building and perfecting the database on the labor market to serve the management and use of labor resources, and planning labor and employment policies of the locality and the whole province.
However, at present, the work of job creation in the province still faces many difficulties such as: The system of facilities serving the collection, provision and processing of labor market information, especially software technology, is still lacking, affecting the quality as well as the accuracy and reliability of information products. The source of investment funds for job introduction activities and labor market information is still limited.
In addition, wages, income, living conditions, policies, benefits, working environment... and the concern of enterprises for employees are not really satisfactory. In particular, the situation of replacing new employees in FDI enterprises is quite common.
In addition, the demand for workers to work abroad tends to increase rather than finding jobs locally because the cost of exporting labor is increasingly low, the ability to work stably for a long time, and the income is 5-8 times higher than working in enterprises in the province.
Comrade Nguyen Hien Ngoc - Head of the Department of Employment - Labor Safety (Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) said: In order to continue expanding the labor market and improving the quality of human resources in the province, in the coming time, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will strengthen coordination with departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to promote propaganda and career orientation for workers in the province, focusing mainly on young workers in rural areas, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, young soldiers, demobilized soldiers, police officers who have finished their service. At the same time, the Employment Service Center will regularly update recruitment information of businesses, job consulting organizations, direct and online job exchanges, applying information technology in job consulting to meet the job search needs of workers and businesses. Encourage links between businesses and training institutions to improve training efficiency, create jobs, and ensure close benefits for all three parties: businesses, training institutions, and learners.
From comprehensive and appropriate policies, we hope to bring efficiency to the labor market and employment, helping workers have more opportunities to access and find suitable and stable jobs to improve their skills and income, contributing to ensuring social security and positively contributing to the overall development of the province.
