In the final, Vietnam will face the Philippines. There will be a maximum of three matches, and the team that wins two of them will win the final match. As the first fighter to start, Nguyen Thi Ngoan dominated her opponent, continuously leading 5-2 and then 8-4. In the final seconds, her opponent gradually recovered, but the final score of 9-8 was in favor of the Vietnamese fighter.
The second Vietnamese martial artist to compete was Hoang Thi My Tam. This martial artist competed confidently and won convincingly, with a difference of 5-0, bringing home the precious gold medal for Vietnamese Karate without having to compete in a third match. On the previous day of competition, Hoang Thi My Tam and Dinh Thi Huong won gold medals in the women's Kumite under 55kg and women's Kumite under 68kg categories, respectively.

In an interview, Hoang Thi My Tam said that her emotions at the moment were bursting with victory. The female martial artist also said that in the semi-final match against strong opponents from Indonesia, the team encountered difficulties, but thanks to choosing the right tactics and determination to compete, the Karate women's team competed successfully to be present in the final match and won convincingly.
The joy was complete for Karate Vietnam because in the final of the men's Kumite team, Chu Van Duc, Do Thanh Nhan, Do Manh Hung, Vo Van Hien, Tran Le Tan Dat, Nguyen Viet Ngoc Hiep and Lo Van Bien defeated Malaysia with a dramatic score of 3-2. Vietnam took the lead 1-0 but then let their opponents lead 2-1, before tying the score 2-2 in the fourth match. In the deciding match, 18-year-old Chu Van Duc dramatically defeated the Malaysian boxer with a score of 9-6 to help Vietnam win the final match 3-2.

Sharing his feelings after being the one to bring home the final victory, boxer Chu Van Duc said: “The Malaysian opponent was very strong but the whole team tried their best. When competing, I always think about Vietnam, think about my homeland. That is the motivation that helps me win.”
The fighters and coaching staff shared their joy with the media after the final match.
Head coach of Kumite of the Vietnam Karate team - Duong Hoang Long said: "I am really touched, I don't know what else to say. This victory is wonderful, the players competed with great effort. The team has rejuvenated its force when 2/3 of the athletes participating in this SEA Games are very young. But the players competed with great spirit to bring this achievement."

Right after winning the two team finals, the Karate Department - General Department of Sports and Physical Training awarded the women's team 800 USD and the men's team 1,400 USD.
With 2 more Kumite team gold medals, Vietnamese Karate has won 6 gold medals at the 32nd SEA Games. Previously, Vietnamese Karate won 1 gold medal in women's team Kata by Nguyen Thi Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc Tram and Luu Thi Thu Uyen; 1 gold medal in men's team Kata by Le Hong Phuc, Pham Minh Duc and Giang Viet Anh; 2 individual gold medals by Hoang Thi My Tam and Dinh Thi Huong.
