Israel is seeking to fend off international criticism for its attacks deep inside Gaza. Despite growing calls for a ceasefire, Israel says it will continue its campaign until Hamas is defeated.

“This is a battle between good and evil,” read a post shared on social media accompanied by a video made by an account linked to the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
Video footage shows people running from Hamas gunmen as they try to escape a music festival on October 7.
At the end of the video, one of the women being chased is seen squatting on the ground, with a gunman standing next to her. Moments later, the gunman raises his rifle and fires at close range at the woman, causing her to fall to the ground.
The video has no sound, but a cloud of dust is seen rising from the ground as the gunman pulls the trigger. The woman has not been identified.
Reuters verified the location of the footage, near Kibbutz Alumim, by matching the layout of nearby roads, trees and buildings to satellite images of the area.
Pressure is mounting on Israel to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, where Hamas says at least 13,300 people have been killed, including at least 5,600 children.
There has been strong support and sympathy for Israel from Western governments and many citizens over the Hamas attacks, but Israel's response has also been criticized by many people around the world.
