Pressure to innovate
- Hong Diem shared that "Heart Rescue Station" has not yet aired but she already feels pressured. Is it because the role of Ngan Ha follows a familiar pattern that makes her worried?
It was because of the pressure that Diem said that. Before accepting this project, Diem thought a lot. With Heart Rescue Station , I met the crew that made the films Rose on the Left Chest and Sunflower Against the Sun with familiar crew members, so that was also the motivation that pulled me back to making films.

However, the difficulty here is the script because the motif is no longer new to me, so how can I make it new? After careful consideration, Diem just thinks like the character Ngan Ha in the movie. That is, I'm already in this situation, I've accepted the project, just keep going, read the script carefully to understand the character's personality and background and follow that path. As for how much the audience accepts and loves me, it depends on luck, so now I can only try my best, the results will have to wait until the movie airs.
- The first images of the film were revealed on VTV, many people commented that the role of the beautiful and classy Ngan Ha is quite similar to Minh Chau in "Sunflower Against the Sun". Not to mention that in this film, Hong Diem continues to play the role of a rich young lady, the daughter of People's Artist Thu Ha, so the audience wondered what is different about her role in "Heart Rescue Station"?
Because people have only seen the character designs and the cast, they have an objective assessment from the outside. Let's watch the movie and then we will have different feelings, Hong Diem believes so. Because the characters' backgrounds are different, the personalities of Ngan Ha and Minh Chau are also different, so they will create different stories.
Diem and Thu Ha in this film still play the role of mother and daughter but their feelings are opposite. Diem hopes that after watching the film, the audience will no longer remember the image of Ms. Minh Chau or Mrs. Bach Cuc in the previous film, but will only remember Ms. Ngan Ha and Lan's mother.

- In "Heart Rescue Station", Hong Diem reunites with People's Artist Thu Ha and People's Artist My Uyen in the same film after playing mother and daughter in "Sunflower Against the Sun" and "A Whole Life of Enmity". Are there any significant differences in this collaboration?
It's very different because in Heart Rescue Station, Uyen and Diem play a mother and daughter who love each other very much. As for Thu Ha, Diem thinks this time she's coming back with a very good role - it's a character with a personality and image that Diem is sure will be deeply imprinted in the minds of viewers.
Still keep the principle of not filming hot scenes
- The audience who loves Hong Diem all know that she has always had a principle of never acting in intimate scenes with male co-stars. In "Heart Rescue Station", did you maintain this principle when playing the role of Quang Su's wife?
Diem still maintains the same principles in her career. However, in this film, the incident happened to the character quite early, so there were some romantic scenes between the couple, but not many. In addition, Quang Su also has a principle when making TV series to limit intimate scenes, so the two of them are quite sympathetic to each other.
Playing the role of Quang Su's wife in the new film, Hong Diem said the film's script does not have any bed scenes.
- In this film, Hong Diem collaborates with Quang Su and Truong Thanh Long for the first time. How do the two co-stars make you feel?
Before meeting Su in this film, Diem had seen him act in Under the Distant Sky, a collaboration with Japan. At that time, Diem was not impressed with Su other than his voice. But after watching the excerpt of Quang Su and Kieu Anh acting out the farewell scene in Gia dinh minh vui bat buc luat , Diem was really impressed. As an actor, not just watching a colleague act can touch your emotions, because the same profession sometimes makes you numb.
I find Quang Su quite interesting and hope to have the opportunity to collaborate. Luckily, right after that film, we had the chance to meet again in this project. Quang Su is a person who is passionate about his profession, intelligent and searching for his own acting style. He himself studies his roles very carefully, so I think the reason Quang Su is not famous up to now is due to bad luck. Hopefully Quang Su will have more projects and reach a wider audience.
- What about Truong Thanh Long?
I act more with Quang Su and have just started filming scenes with Long but are still at the friendship stage. Truong Thanh Long and Diem are both amateurs in the acting industry, unlike Quang Su who is professionally trained. There is something good about two amateurs meeting each other, if they can capture the emotions it will be good but if they are off-beat they have to try harder. The two brothers often sit and discuss about their roles and hope that the film will be fine later.
- Diem said she once thought about acting with Quang Su and got her wish, so which other male screen stars do you want to work with?
Thanh Son has not acted with me yet. I am too old for Thanh Son so we have not been able to work together (laughs). Just kidding, there are many actors I have not had the chance to work with. I have only acted with Viet Anh, Manh Truong, Hong Dang and now Quang Su, Truong Thanh Long, Quoc Huy, Doan Quoc Dam...
- Up until now, Hong Diem has always played characters that the audience loves, never taking on a villain role to be hated. I wonder when Diem will take the risk to take on a completely different role from before to create something new for the audience?
I have thought about this too, but sometimes I have to wait for fate because I have not received any such invitation yet. No director has dared to risk inviting Diem to play a villain.
