These are package 5.10 - construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal and package 4.6 - construction and installation of equipment for the runway, taxiway, and aircraft parking lot of the Long Thanh airport project, phase 1.
The passenger terminal is considered the “heart” of Long Thanh airport phase 1 and is also the common critical path of the entire project. This is also a large-value contract with the most complex technical nature at present.

Long Thanh airport terminal has a total investment of nearly 35,000 billion VND and is considered very modern, using 4.0 technology during operation, with a contract implementation period of 39 months. When completed, the terminal will have a capacity to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.
The station takes the lotus image as the main idea and is used throughout the design process, applied to the roof, perspective from the main view of the station, interior of the check-in area, arranged in a concentrated form including the central area and 3 wings.
The highlight of the terminal is the central skylight area (at the check-in area) and the central landscape skylight (from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor) - where an artificial waterfall and garden landscape are arranged, combined with the diffused light from the area above the skylight, making passengers feel comfortable and blend into nature in this area.
Previously, ACV also announced that the Vietur contractor consortium was the winning bidder for the construction and installation of equipment for the Long Thanh airport passenger terminal phase 1.
Package 4.6 - construction and installation of equipment for the runway and apron of Long Thanh airport phase 1 - is worth more than 7.3 trillion VND, with a construction period of 700 days. This is the second largest package of component project 3.

How modern is Long Thanh airport?
According to the design capacity, in phase 1, after being put into operation, Long Thanh airport will be the leading modern airport in the region with a capacity to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo/year. It is expected that after completing all phases, Long Thanh airport will reach a capacity of up to 100 million passengers/year and become the largest airport in Vietnam in the future, aiming to become one of the busiest transit airports in the region.
Previously, ACV shared that Long Thanh airport terminal was designed and constructed using the most modern technologies in the aviation field, choosing materials according to trends applied to modern airport terminals in the world, ensuring the durability, aesthetics and characteristics of the airport terminal.
At the same time, using covering materials ensures energy savings for the station and is environmentally friendly.
Package 4.6 includes items such as airport runway with a 4,000m long, 45m wide runway; a system of 2 parallel taxiways, 6 quick exit taxiways, connecting taxiways with an area of about 69.3 hectares; aircraft parking area and parking areas for ground service vehicles with an area of about 12.4 hectares.
Accompanying traffic infrastructure items such as the airport service road system with a total length of 29.67 km; airport rainwater drainage system...
Auxiliary works such as airport security fence system, guard booth to ensure security, prevent intrusion from outside, airport lighting system, aircraft parking lot lighting system, precision landing support equipment system...
Long Thanh Airport has been in the development planning and investment project since 1997. More than 20 years later, on January 5, 2021, the project officially started phase 1, expected to be put into operation in 2025.
However, after more than 2 years of construction, the "super" Long Thanh airport project is behind schedule.
Faced with the above situation, on the first working days of 2023, the 8th day of the Lunar New Year (January 29, 2023), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh led a Government delegation to directly inspect the project construction site.
Immediately after the inspection trip and many consecutive meetings, the Prime Minister continuously issued telegrams directing to speed up the progress of the Long Thanh International Airport Project.
Most recently, on the morning of August 5, concluding the regular Government meeting, the Prime Minister issued an ultimatum: the Ministry of Transport must start construction of Long Thanh airport terminal in August.
