During their working time in Vietnam, the delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association and the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association visited and learned about the production, processing and consumption model of Trong Duc cocoa company in Phu Hoa commune, Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province.

During the working visit to Vietnam from October 25 to November 1, the delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association led by Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association led by Comrade Phan Nhu Nguyen, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, visited and learned about the production, processing and consumption model of Trong Duc cocoa company in Phu Hoa commune, Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province.

It is known that Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited was established in 2005 by Mr. Dang Tuong Kham - a military doctor and agricultural researcher, especially cocoa trees. Up to now, Trong Duc Cocoa has developed an independent raw material area based on the construction of a chain linking farmers - cooperatives - enterprises, providing seedlings, technical support, and purchasing products from farmers.

The total area of ​​cocoa raw material area in Dong Nai is about 700 hectares. Of which, the contract with farmers is about 600 hectares, with an average output of about 5,000 tons/year.

Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, highly appreciated the model of production, processing and linking consumption of Trong Duc cocoa company's products.

Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega said that in Cuba, the cocoa production and processing model has also received attention and investment. However, the economic efficiency is not high. "Today, visiting the cocoa production and processing model, I am very impressed with the quality and output of cocoa in Vietnam. Especially the direction of linking product consumption and applying purchase prices between businesses and farmers. This is extremely useful information for our country", said Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega.

Currently, Trong Duc Cocoa Company Limited is continuing to expand its raw material area and invest in cocoa processing factories and equipment in Dong Nai.

Nearly 30 deeply processed products such as: chocolate, cocoa liquor, cocoa powder... many products achieve 4-star OCOP, not only good domestic consumption but also exported to demanding markets such as: Japan, Korea.
