On October 30, in Hung Loc commune (Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province), a delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association and the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association visited a grapefruit growing model following the organic direction with 5 no's: no growth stimulants, no toxic chemical residues, no chemical pesticides, no preservatives and no herbicides.

The delegation of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association led by Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Central Committee Member of the Communist Party of Cuba, President of the Cuban Small Farmers' Association, and Comrade Phan Nhu Nguyen - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association visited the organic grapefruit growing model of farmer Nguyen Van Long in Hung Loc commune (Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province).

Farmer Nguyen Van Long introduced to the Cuban Small Farmers' Delegation and the Central Vietnam Farmers' Association his 4.5-hectare grapefruit garden grown in the organic direction of 5 no's: no growth stimulants, no toxic chemical residues, no chemical pesticides, no preservatives and no herbicides.

Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Cuban Small Farmers Association, highly appreciated the development and quality of grapefruit grown organically.

It is known that the organic grapefruit garden model of farmer Nguyen Van Long has received 50% support from a local enterprise for fertilizer and agricultural materials costs.

Besides, comrade Félix Duarte Ortega was also impressed by the fact that farmer Nguyen Van Long used grass in his garden to produce organic fertilizer.

Grapefruit and grass garden is watered by farmer Nguyen Van Long using Israeli irrigation technology.

Members of the Cuban Small Farmers Association delegation were excited after harvesting grapefruit.

Immediately afterwards, the Cuban Small Farmers Association delegation enjoyed the grapefruit after cutting it from the tree. Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega assessed the quality of the grapefruit as sweet, cool and quite juicy.
