According to the Trade Promotion Agency, the workshop was organized within the framework of Component 3, the Vietnam Trade Policy and Export Promotion Project funded by the Swiss Government (referred to as the SwissTrade Project).

The workshop was attended by representatives of the sponsor (Swiss Federal Directorate for Economic Affairs), the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and representatives of the Departments of Industry and Trade, Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Centers of localities, industry associations and business support organizations receiving funding from the Innovation and Competitiveness Support Program, Component 3, SwissTrade Project.

At the workshop, the delegates presenting their papers were leading experts on policies, regulations and international practices on green trade, green transition and sustainability from relevant ministries and sectors, as well as international experts from the International Trade Centre in Geneva.

In particular, the workshop plays an important role in providing delegates with information on green and sustainable trade regulations in developed markets, especially regulations on greenhouse gas emission reduction, policies, green product standards, and voluntary sustainability standards; thereby, recognizing the challenges and opportunities for Vietnamese manufacturing and exporting enterprises.

Delegates also had the opportunity to discuss and exchange with experts about the challenges and opportunities for businesses when participating in the green transformation process, as well as in accessing developed import markets with increasingly high environmental and social standards.

The training workshop helps trade promotion agencies, industry associations and business support organizations improve their understanding of new areas in trade, thereby being able to inform, guide and support manufacturing and exporting enterprises to improve their awareness and capacity in the development and production and business process in accordance with international practices and legal regulations, meeting the regulations of importing countries and the requirements of international buyers. Thereby, contributing to improving the export competitiveness and participation in the global value chain of Vietnamese enterprises, contributing to the common goal of the SwissTrade Project and the sustainable development of Vietnam.
