In 2023, the Provincial Journalists Association and its affiliated Journalists Associations and Journalists Clubs always promote the spirit of solidarity and innovation, uphold the role of leaders in performing political tasks, creating positive changes in the activities and work of the Association.
In the work of building the Association, in 2023, the Journalists' Associations held the Congress for the 2023-2025 term, through which the Association Secretariats were consolidated and put into operation. The Senior Journalists' Club and the Gia Lai Province Women's Journalists' Club were established and put into operation, creating solidarity and cohesion among members. Currently, the total number of members of the Provincial Journalists' Association is 296 members.

The Provincial Journalists Association successfully organized the 12th Gia Lai Provincial Press Awards in 2023, receiving 89 entries from 150 authors and groups of authors who are members, reporters and journalists working in the press in the province. As a result, the Association awarded 30 prizes, including: 3 A prizes, 6 B prizes, 9 C prizes and 12 consolation prizes. The Provincial Journalists Association published and distributed 4 special issues of Gia Lai Journalists, successfully organized the Spring Newspaper Festival Quy Mao 2023. Notably, at the 17th National Press Awards in 2022, the Association had 1 work that won a consolation prize (the work "Projects that waste resources" by a group of authors from the Gia Lai Newspaper Association).
In addition, the Provincial Journalists Association has coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and the Department of Home Affairs to participate in the Organizing Committee and Jury of the contests: "Examples of good people, good deeds, outstanding advanced models" of Gia Lai province for the 4th time (2022-2023); the political writing contest "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against wrong and hostile views in 2023"; the contest "Press with the work of Party building, building the political system of Gia Lai province in 2023". In which, the collectives: Gia Lai Newspaper, the Provincial Journalists Association, the Provincial Radio and Television Station are 3/4 of the most excellent collectives of the contest "Press with the work of Party building, building the political system of Gia Lai province in 2023" and were awarded by the Organizing Committee.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial Journalists Association Huynh Kien highly appreciated the results achieved in 2023. Notably, the Association coordinated the organization of journalism competitions and awards; there were many high-quality works and high awards. In addition, the Association has implemented activities and movements, attracting the participation of members who are resident journalists; creating opportunities to connect members, journalists, and reporters in the province.
In the coming time, the Provincial Journalists Association needs to grasp the situation of its members, thereby directing its branches and members to step up propaganda work, improve the quality of the Journalists Special Edition and journalism awards. At the same time, develop a propaganda plan and organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).
