Ceremony to announce Dien Chau district achieving New Rural standards in 2023

On the morning of August 17, Dien Chau district held a ceremony to announce the district meeting the new rural standards in 2023. Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Thi Thuy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee; along with leaders of ministries, branches and the Central New Rural Coordination Office.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Overview of the ceremony.

Dien Chau is a coastal plain district with diverse terrain, natural conditions, and socio-economic conditions; it is a land of culture, an important strategic position, and a glorious history. Entering the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the Party Committee and people of Dien Chau faced many difficulties. However, the Party Committee, government, and people of Dien Chau district have united, strived to rise up, and achieved many outstanding results.

Up to now, after more than 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, Dien Chau district has developed quite comprehensively, the rural appearance has improved a lot, the infrastructure has been invested and upgraded quite synchronously to meet the living and production needs of the people. 100% of communes have met the new rural standards, of which 8 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, Dien Chau town has met the "Civilized Urban" standards. The district level has completed 100% of the criteria; the average income per capita has increased more than 4.2 times compared to 2010; the poverty rate has decreased 6 times compared to 2010.

With the achievements, in February 2024, the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Chau district were honored to receive the Prime Minister's Decision to recognize the district as meeting the New Rural standards. Congratulating the proud achievements of the local Party Committee and people, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested the Party Committee, government and people of Dien Chau district to continue to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria.

At the same time, review and plan to continue building the district to meet the Advanced New Rural Standards in the coming time. Building New Rural Areas is increasingly going into depth and sustainability with the motto "Ecological agriculture - modern countryside - civilized farmers". Strive to complete the goal of achieving a Type IV urban area by 2025 and achieving the criteria of a Type III urban area (town) before 2030 according to Resolution 39 of the Politburo and the General Planning of Nghe An province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to 2 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement to build advanced new rural areas.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the New Rural Construction Program in Dien Chau district.

On this occasion, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam donated 5 billion VND to Dien Chau district to finance the construction of charity houses and equipment for the disabled. Dong Hai Corporation - Military Region 7 donated 500 million VND to support the provision of houses and wheelchairs to the disabled in Dien Chau district.
