Below is a quick interview by Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter in Hangzhou, China with three female athletes Nguyen Thi Phuong, Luu Thi Thu Uyen and Nguyen Ngoc Tram, who have just brought glory to the Vietnamese sports delegation and coach Hoang Ngan.
Athlete Nguyen Ngoc Tram said: "I would like to thank my coach and teammates for helping me get to where I am today. I am very happy, but I am still a little nervous so my voice is a bit shaky. I am very happy and proud to win this gold medal for the country. Although there are fewer competitors, the scale of ASIAD is very large, so we do not underestimate our competitors or the size of the organizing committee. We are very focused on ASIAD 19".
Regarding the performance in the final round, Ngoc Tram shared: "We discussed this issue, about which parts are slow, which parts need strength. Compared to the SEA Games, this time the feeling is very different because the scale of the tournament is larger, so we are more stressed. This time it is more difficult than the SEA Games. This is a very important gold medal, necessary at this time."

Athlete Nguyen Thi Phuong said: "I feel very happy and proud. My emotions were overflowing as soon as I stepped onto the competition mat. When I heard everyone shouting "Vietnam" loudly, I felt excited. I felt a little unfair in the individual scores in yesterday's competition, so I was determined to "take revenge" in today's competition. When we entered with a determined spirit, we were not mentally affected and completed our competition well. We were a little nervous, so we were more careful and focused."
According to athlete Luu Thi Thu Uyen: "We have to win against ourselves. We would like to dedicate the gold medal to our coach."

Coach Nguyen Hoang Ngan confided: "When we knew that the competition at ASIAD 19 had kata team, we felt the opportunity, knowing that we could do it. As an athlete, I had failed to win a medal twice. This time, I expected Nguyen Thi Phuong to make it to the finals but she didn't, but I didn't let it affect my mentality. This team gold medal is very precious, showing many meanings, not only the expertise of Vietnamese kata but also the strength of Vietnamese people. This is the most valuable medal of our lives. We were very emotional, nervous, my heart was probably beating faster than the athlete's, to the point that I didn't dare to go to the... toilet. I am very proud, I know my students can do it. You did well, restrained the mistakes you made and won. I will have a reward for my students".
