No one expected that many years later, that young man would reach out to the "big sea", becoming one of the world's leading project management experts. On the first day of the new year 2024, the story of the journey Trieu Chau had gone through strongly inspired young people: Learning is never-ending.
Studying abroad is not the only path to success.
Nguyen Si Trieu Chau (38 years old), a former student of the Gifted High School (Ho Chi Minh City National University), graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. He once had two choices: either continue his studies to become a lecturer or go to work to become more dedicated. He chose the second path. Initially, Nguyen Si Trieu Chau was a trainee administrator for a multinational corporation.
Then, with his passion for work and constant learning, he obtained internationally recognized project management degrees. At the same time, the talented young man became an expert in teaching project management for large corporations such as Samsung, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Suntory Pepsico, Heineken, Honda, etc.
Trieu Chau's mark is that in 2020, he was recognized by PMI (Project Management Institute) as "Best of Best" in the field of project management, becoming one of 9 individuals in the world to receive the professional individual award from PMI. He is also the first Vietnamese person in the past 40 years to be honored with the PMI professional award for individuals.

Currently, Trieu Chau lives and works in Toronto, Canada. Over the years, he has been a judge for the PMO Global Awards - a prestigious international event organized by the PMO Global Alliance, now part of PMI.
He shared with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters that the geographical change in where he lives and works has not diminished his enthusiasm in contributing to the project management industry in both Vietnam and many countries. "In fact, it has also expanded opportunities for me to learn and share knowledge and experience with a larger community, thereby helping me to continuously develop and achieve new milestones in my career. I still regularly travel to many places in the world, participate in different communities and always want to contribute to the development of project management quality at a global level," Trieu Chau confided.
Graduating from a domestic university and achieving many remarkable achievements abroad, Trieu Chau's journey is a typical example showing that, no matter where one studies and develops, success can still be achieved through effort, perseverance and continuous learning.
Alumni of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology believe that every student should consider studying at domestic universities as a solid foundation for their career. Opportunities to access specialized knowledge, develop skills and expand their network of relationships are always open to those who know how to take advantage. Besides, in the digital age, access to online courses from the world's leading universities has become easy. Every student should take advantage of this opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills.

The founder and leader of Atoha Project Management Institute affirmed: "I want to say this to young people who dream of studying abroad but are facing financial obstacles, academic performance or other reasons, that the learning environment, although important, does not decide everything. The important thing is that you set goals for yourself and constantly strive to overcome all challenges, because every challenge is an opportunity to learn and develop.
Each of us has a unique journey. No matter where you start, with the right attitude and constant effort, you can absolutely achieve your goals and dreams. Believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams."
New year conquers many new challenges
The first days of the new year 2024 are a time for Nguyen Si Trieu Chau to reflect on the past and plan for new things to come. In 2024, he aims to not only improve his knowledge and professional skills but also expand his influence in the global project management community.

I hope that each of us will find passion, perseverance and continuous efforts to achieve our goals and dreams. Let's share knowledge, experience and support each other on the journey to conquer new heights. Happy New Year 2024".
Is life project management the same as work project management?
Nguyen Si Trieu Chau believes that life project management is not only about career but also about how we shape our future through daily decisions and actions.
He mentioned 10 important points for each person to be able to manage their life effectively: Define clear goals; Make detailed plans; Break down goals; Track progress and evaluate; Develop personal capacity; Accept failure and learn from it; Adapt and be flexible; Seek support; Integrate technology; Manage time and energy.
"Finally, remember that life project management is a long-term journey, not a race. Be patient, flexible, and always ready to adjust your plan to reflect changes in your goals and circumstances," Nguyen Si Trieu Chau shared.
