Newton TH Primary & Secondary School (Thanh Hoa) has just organized an open school-level calligraphy contest for the 2024 - 2025 school year with the participation of about 300 students from the school and neighboring primary schools in the city.
Newton TH Primary & Secondary School (Thanh Hoa) has just organized an open school-level calligraphy contest for the 2024 - 2025 school year with the participation of about 300 students from the school and neighboring primary schools in the city.
The contest aims to maintain and develop the movement of clean notebooks and beautiful handwriting among primary school students; create conditions for teachers and students to improve their writing skills and present clean and beautiful notebooks. On the basis of practicing handwriting, students also form and develop good qualities such as: Carefulness, perseverance, creativity and knowing how to preserve aesthetic handwriting.
At the contest, students were excited and actively interacted with each other before the contest. In the contest, candidates only had 20 minutes to write. For grades 2-3, students wrote in small letters with a copying exercise of a short paragraph or poem of about 40-45 words (grade 2) and 60-65 words (grade 3).
For students in grades 4-5, students write in small letters with a copy exercise and a short essay or poem of about 80-85 words (grade 4) and 100-110 words (grade 5) in which 3-5 words are proper names.

The jury of the contest includes teachers currently teaching at the school and teachers in the "Beautiful Vietnamese Calligraphy - Thanh Hoa" club.
The Organizing Committee awarded each block 16 prizes, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 10 promising prizes. In addition, the students also received gifts from Thanh Chuong Company Limited (ERAS).

The winning students of Newton Primary & Secondary School's school-level competition will be selected to participate in the 2nd "Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy" competition.
The 2nd "Beautiful Vietnamese Calligraphy" Contest was launched by Tien Phong Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Thanh Chuong Company Limited and the Beautiful Vietnamese Calligraphy Club from November 2024.

The Preliminary Round, taking place from November 23, 2024 to March 25, 2025, will see candidates take two written tests.
The Final Round is scheduled to take place on April 19-20, 2025 in Hanoi, where outstanding candidates from the preliminary round will demonstrate their talents before a prestigious jury, including teachers and experts in the fields of education and culture.
Nowadays, technology is developing rapidly and various forms of entertainment are dominating, handwriting is less and less concerned and focused. However, for primary school students, practicing handwriting plays an important role in forming study habits and personality. When practicing writing, students present neat and clean notebooks, which also shows respect for knowledge, cherishing their thoughts and ideas as well as their teachers.
The organizers also reminded teachers in provinces and cities not to practice creative writing for students.
The 2nd “Beautiful Vietnamese Calligraphy” Contest was organized by Tien Phong Joint Stock Company in collaboration with Thanh Chuong Company Limited (ERAS) and the Beautiful Vietnamese Calligraphy Club, with media sponsorship from Tien Phong Newspaper, Hoa Hoc Tro and Little Angel.
According to the Organizing Committee, contestants who decide to participate in the second "Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy" contest are completely voluntary and do not have to pay any fees in any form when registering for the contest. The Organizing Committee will award 1,000 prizes including: 5 First Prizes, each with a prize of 10 million VND and gifts; 10 Second Prizes, each with 3 million VND and gifts; 12 Third Prizes, each with 1 million VND and gifts; 20 Fourth Prizes, each with 500 thousand VND and gifts; 453 Encouragement Prizes and 500 potential prizes...
