Hanbin - Ngo Ngoc Hung: Becoming an international artist is a long journey

Tempest is a K-pop group that has attracted attention recently, with 7 members. Among them, Hanbin - Ngo Ngoc Hung is a Vietnamese male singer, with a certain number of fans in both Korea and Vietnam.

Hanbin - Ngo Ngoc Hung takes on the role of lead vocalist and lead dancer of the group. In mid-June this year, instead of organizing a live music performance in Korea like many other groups, Tempest chose Vietnam to start their first world tour in their career World Premiere: The First Ever Live 2024 Tempest Concert . The show took place at Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC), attracting 4,000 spectators. Notably, the group sang hits by Vietnamese artists, often using Vietnamese to communicate. The singers also wore conical hats and Vietnamese ao dai in related activities.

This is the second time Tempest has come to Vietnam, the first time was at the Ho Do International Music Festival 2023. Ngo Ngoc Hung was moved to thank the audience: “After so many days of hard work and effort, I have finally been able to do it. What I have been cherishing, wishing for and waiting for all this time, now for the first time I can organize a live music performance in my beloved homeland... Our country Vietnam is so beautiful and Tempest and I hope to see each other again soon.”

Ngo Ngoc Hung was born in 1998 in Yen Bai, graduated from the Faculty of International Marketing - Hanoi University of Commerce. The singer makes Vietnamese audiences proud when he has repeatedly promoted Vietnamese culture, image and language to global audiences. Since his student days, Ngoc Hung has shown his love for art. In 2018, he won the Vietnam Kpop random dance in public championship. In 2020, he became one of 20 contestants participating in the reality TV show I-Land organized by Hybe and Mnet (Korea).

In the introduction, he said he was a trainee at Hybe Entertainment - BTS's management company. His image with a bright smile, confidently introducing in Vietnamese "I want to become a singer like BTS" received a positive response from the audience. At first, Ngoc Hung was not highly appreciated for his singing, dancing, performance skills, and his limited Korean communication skills caused him to miss many opportunities to show off. But after the show, he had a large fan base, opening up many opportunities. In 2022, Hanbin debuted as a member of Tempest, developing in a bright direction and strong performance style.

Sharing about his journey, Ngo Ngoc Hung expressed: “I want to show foreign artists and international audiences a lot about Vietnam, its culture and cuisine so that young people can experience that Vietnam is wonderful. Becoming an international artist is a long journey, I am working hard for myself and the image of young artists from Vietnam.”

Tempest (meaning "strong storm") is a Korean boy band formed in March 2022, under Yuehua Entertainment. After more than 2 years since their debut, Tempest has achieved many achievements at many prestigious music awards ceremonies in Korea such as: Genie Music Awards 2022, Asia Artist Award 2022, Seoul Music Awards 2023, Hanteo Music Awards 2022... Tempest released 4 EPs (extended discs), releasing their first album in September 2023.
