Ribbon cutting ceremony to open the exhibition
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Director of Da Nang Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien said that the exhibition "Da Nang - Looking back at 50 years of Liberation Day" was organized with the desire to partly recreate the arduous, fierce but heroic days of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country and especially the vibrant, heroic atmosphere of the historic March days of spring 1975 of Da Nang city. At the same time, to let the public feel the remarkable changes of the city before and after the liberation day in the past 50 years.
“Through the exhibition, we aim to arouse and promote the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the will to fight and win of the people of Da Nang, “Courageous - Resilient - Leading the way to defeat the Americans” and hope that the young generations today and tomorrow will appreciate and be grateful for the sacrifices and contributions of those who went before for the independence and peace of the nation,” shared the Director of the Da Nang Museum.
Da Nang Museum receives more than 90 valuable war relics and historical documents
At the exhibition, the Organizing Committee has researched and selected to introduce to the public about 300 images, documents, and artifacts associated with the resistance war against the US as well as the offensive and uprising to liberate Da Nang by the army and people of the heroic Zone 5, presented through 3 parts of content, including: Da Nang - The largest joint naval, land, and air force base in the Central region; Armed forces of Military Zone 5 and the people of Da Nang in the offensive and uprising to liberate Da Nang in 1975; Da Nang - Pride and aspiration.
The exhibition aims to arouse and promote the tradition of patriotism in today's and tomorrow's young generation.
Coming to the exhibition, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy many artifacts that are being introduced to the public for the first time, typically the Honda Dame motorbike used by Mr. Kieu Thanh Tan to go in and out of the city to grasp the situation and contact the revolutionary base in the last days of March 1975. Later, the motorbike was used by Mr. Pham Kieu Da - a special force in Da Nang to take over the City Hall; artifacts associated with the revolutionary activities of comrades Vo Chi Cong, Chu Huy Man and many other artifacts with great historical significance.
The exhibition "Da Nang - Looking back at 50 years of Liberation Day" takes place from March 29, 2025 to April 20, 2025 at Da Nang Museum.
Within the framework of the exhibition opening program, Da Nang Museum received more than 90 war relics and historical documents. These are relics of uncles and aunts who directly participated in the war against the US (1965-1975) and participated in international missions in Cambodia (1979-1985). Each relic is associated with each event; containing touching stories about comradeship; about the sacrifice, loss, but full of pride of the uncles and aunts who devoted their youth to the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happy and peaceful life of the people.
The exhibition will be held from March 29, 2025 to April 20, 2025, at Da Nang Museum, 31 Tran Phu, Hai Chau Ward, Hai Chau District.
