Hai Phong recognized 5 more communes meeting advanced new rural standards in An Lao and Vinh Bao districts and 6 communes meeting model new rural standards in Kien Thuy and Cat Hai districts.
In implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction (NTM), by 2024 the city aims to complete the recognition of 53 advanced NTM communes (including 3 communes in the 2023 plan), 44 model NTM communes (including 9 communes in the 2023 plan).
Up to now, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hai Phong city has received applications for recognition of advanced NTM communes and model NTM communes of 12 communes that ensure compliance with the provisions of Decision No. 18/2022/QD-TTg dated August 2, 2022 of the Prime Minister.
According to the results of the assessment of the indicators and criteria for the above 12 communes by departments and branches, up to now, 11/12 communes (including 5 communes proposed for recognition as advanced NTM, 6 communes proposed for recognition as model NTM) have had enough assessment reports from departments and branches and ensured to meet the indicators and criteria according to the Set of NTM criteria at the commune level for the period 2021-2025.
100% of the Appraisal Council members recognized 5 communes meeting advanced NTM standards and 6 communes meeting model NTM standards.
At the meeting on the afternoon of May 31, the Steering Committee for National Target Programs and Sustainable Development of Hai Phong City held a meeting of the Appraisal Council to consider and recognize communes that meet advanced NTM standards and model NTM standards in 2024. Accordingly, 100% of the members of the Appraisal Council to recognize communes that meet advanced NTM standards and model NTM standards voted unanimously to recognize 5 communes, including Ngu Phuc (Kien Thuy district), Quoc Tuan (An Lao district), Vinh An, Thang Thuy, Tien Phong (Vinh Bao district) to meet advanced NTM standards and 6 communes, including Tan Trao (Kien Thuy district), Gia Luan, Hien Hao, Phu Long, Tran Chau, Viet Hai (Cat Hai district) to meet model NTM standards.
Thus, up to this point in Hai Phong city, 89/137 communes have met advanced NTM standards; 54/137 communes have met model NTM standards.

In order to achieve the set goals in 2024, speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for National Target Programs and Sustainable Development of the city, requested Vinh Bao District People's Committee to focus on directing specialized departments and Hung Tien Commune People's Committee (1 of 6 communes proposed for recognition of advanced NTM that have not met the prescribed targets and criteria) to closely coordinate with the police force to synchronously deploy solutions, strengthen the work of ensuring security and order in the commune, striving to achieve target 19.2 on security and order. Quickly complete the application for recognition of advanced NTM commune, submit for recognition after the security and order targets meet the prescribed standards.
For other localities, the Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee suggested focusing on accelerating site clearance to implement projects , especially in Tien Lang district (a locality with slow site clearance progress); the investment process should not overlap projects...
