Hanoi City aims that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children from 6 months to under 9 months old in the city must receive one dose of measles vaccine.

The Hanoi People's Committee sets a goal that by March 31, 2025, 95% of children aged 6 to under 9 months will receive at least 1 dose of measles vaccine.

On March 21, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1024/UBND-KGVX on the implementation of Official Dispatch No. 23/CD-TTg dated March 15, 2025 of the Prime Minister and Official Dispatch No. 1572/BYT-PB dated March 19, 2025 of the Ministry of Health on the implementation of vaccination against measles.

Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee requested the Department of Health to continue to direct and support medical units to speed up the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign.

The goal is that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children from 6 months to under 9 months old in Hanoi must receive one dose of measles vaccine.

The Hanoi Department of Health ensures adequate vaccine supply and timely distribution to districts, towns and cities, and directs hospitals to strictly implement infection prevention procedures, screening and isolating patients to avoid cross-infection.

In addition, the Hanoi Department of Health coordinates with the Department of Culture and Sports to organize communication activities to raise public awareness of the importance of measles vaccination. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of the vaccination campaign and weekly summarize and report the results of the vaccination campaign to the Hanoi Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention.

The Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with the Department of Health to provide information and guide Hanoi City press agencies, central and local press agencies to coordinate in communicating the benefits of proactive vaccination against measles so that people can take their children to be vaccinated fully and on schedule, ensuring that children from 6 months to under 9 months old are vaccinated with 1 dose of measles vaccine and children from 1 to 10 years old are vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine;

Encourage people to proactively vaccinate women of childbearing age with measles-rubella vaccine according to recommendations of the health sector. Information work must be accurate and timely to prevent misinformation about measles epidemic.

The Department of Education and Training is required to step up propaganda on measles prevention in schools. Educational institutions need to monitor students' health status and promptly notify health stations of cases of measles or suspected measles for handling and isolation according to regulations. Schools also need to coordinate with health agencies to review students' vaccination history and propagate parents to have their children fully vaccinated.

The Department of Finance guides units to arrange funding for measles vaccination according to regulations.

Hanoi City departments, agencies and sectors closely coordinate with the health sector and related units to strengthen communication work and deploy measles prevention measures throughout the area.

People's Committees of districts, towns and cities must focus, resolutely and speed up the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign, ensuring that by March 31, 2025, at least 95% of children from 6 months to under 9 months old in the area receive 1 dose of measles vaccine.

Closely monitor the measles epidemic situation in the management area; Proactively develop a response plan to epidemic situations in the area. Direct relevant agencies and units to coordinate with the health sector to review and manage vaccination subjects, ensure that no subjects are missed and vaccination is carried out safely and effectively, with the motto "go to every alley, knock on every door, check every subject".

At the same time, ensure sufficient human resources, funding, materials and equipment to complete the campaign in March 2025 according to the 4 on-site motto. Vaccination forms need to be organized in accordance with the characteristics of each locality, and information and communication work must be strengthened to mobilize people to fully vaccinate their children on schedule. Units also need to organize regular inspections and monitoring, support routes and report campaign results to the Department of Health weekly.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City and organizations and unions of Hanoi City are required to coordinate with the health sector and related units in propaganda and mobilization work for people to implement measures to prevent measles epidemics according to the instructions of the health sector, focusing on measles vaccination.
