Bach Mai Hospital cooperates with AstraZeneca Vietnam to research rare diseases

On March 26, Mr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, said that in order to improve the quality of treatment for patients and promote the application of modern technology, Bach Mai Hospital has just signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation with AstraZeneca Vietnam Company Limited.

This is an important step forward in the effort to improve the quality of diagnosis, treatment and patient care, especially in the fields of cancer, cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, renal and metabolic diseases.

According to the agreement, the two sides will focus on five main pillars of cooperation, including: screening and diagnosis; improving the capacity of medical staff; scientific research; communication to support patients; digital transformation; and application of artificial intelligence.

According to Mr. Dao Xuan Co, in the unit's development strategy, Bach Mai Hospital does not only stop at improving patient treatment but also focuses on research and treatment of rare diseases like AstraZeneca Vietnam's strategy. Therefore, this is a strategic activity of both sides and a promising cooperation.

Bach Mai Hospital strives to become a center of in-depth research not only in Vietnam but also in the region and the world. In addition, with the construction of electronic medical records, a large database of more than 2 million outpatients and 250,000 inpatients each year, will be an extremely important database to create large-scale regional and international research instead of small-scale research as before.
