Professor Vo Tong Xuan passed away

On the morning of August 19, information from Nam Can Tho University said that Professor, Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, People's Teacher, Hero of Labor, Honorary Principal of Nam Can Tho University passed away at 7:27 a.m. on August 19 at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, at the end of 2022, Professor Vo Tong Xuan had suffered a serious heart attack. After many days in a coma, he miraculously recovered. However, since this serious illness, Professor Vo Tong Xuan's health has declined significantly.

Recently, his condition became worse. Despite the dedicated treatment and care of doctors, due to old age and weak health, Professor Vo Tong Xuan did not survive.

People's Teacher, Hero of Labor, Professor, Dr. Vo Tong Xuan was born on September 6, 1940 in Ba Chuc, Tri Ton District, An Giang. He has held many positions such as: Vice Principal of Can Tho University, Principal of An Giang University, Nam Can Tho University... He is also the first Vietnamese scientist to receive many major domestic and international titles and awards, including the Vinfuture Award in 2023...

It is expected that the funeral of Professor Vo Tong Xuan will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Funeral Home, then brought back to his hometown for burial.
