Tho Xuan District is one of the localities with many traditional occupations and craft villages. However, in the past, many craft village production models were still small-scale, many households lacked capital, especially poor households and other policy beneficiaries. Implementing Directive No. 40-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over social policy credit, the Transaction Office of the Tho Xuan District Social Policy Bank (THBSP) has closely followed the direction of the locality to review the actual loan needs of borrowers to remove difficulties in capital sources for people, thereby improving their lives and creating a more stable source of investment capital. Thereby, contributing to promoting the development of OCOP products in the district. Policy capital has focused on lending to support job creation, maintaining and expanding employment for craft villages, developing OCOP products, such as: developing Thuan Minh civil carpentry, Tho Loc conical hat weaving, Phu Xuan vermicelli and peanut candy, Tu Tru sticky rice cake, Xuan Lap harrow gears...
The family of Mr. Lu Dang Hung, village 3 Yen Luoc, Thuan Minh commune is one of the households that effectively uses the loan capital from the job creation support program, maintaining and expanding jobs to develop traditional occupations. It is known that thanks to the loan of more than 100 million VND from the bank, Mr. Hung's family has boldly expanded the workshop, invested in more machinery, and shifted from making traditional wooden products by hand to producing all kinds of furniture, from beds, cabinets, tables and chairs to shelves, worship items with modern machinery, improving designs and improving product quality to meet consumer tastes. Currently, his family's wooden furniture production facility is creating regular jobs for 8 workers with an average income of 6 to 8 million VND/month. Every year, after deducting expenses, his family earns about more than 300 million VND.
Not only Mr. Hung's family, but many families working in traditional occupations in Tho Xuan district have been accessing policy credit capital. Up to now, the total outstanding debt of 9 social policy credit programs in Tho Xuan district has reached nearly 650 billion VND. The increase in outstanding debt is mainly concentrated in a number of programs such as: loans to support job creation, maintain and expand employment, loans for poor households, near-poor households, etc. In particular, for OCOP products alone, the whole district has dozens of households receiving policy loans with an amount of billions of VND. Up to now, most households are effectively promoting capital sources, contributing to creating jobs for workers, improving the lives of people in the district. From the loan capital, households have invested in more equipment, expanded production scale, maintained and developed OCOP products, increased income, improved quality of life; at the same time, creating jobs for many workers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Credit capital is an important catalyst to promote the development of craft villages, industries and effectively implement the National Target Program on New Rural Development and the OCOP Program in Tho Xuan district. Up to now, the total number of products recognized as OCOP at the provincial level in the district is 32 products, including 1 4-star product and 31 3-star products.
