On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 1954 - October 2024) and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being awarded the title "City for Peace" by UNESCO (1999-2024), on the afternoon of October 26, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations organized the Program to summarize and award the writing contest "Hanoi in me", honoring international authors and Vietnamese people living abroad, with excellent works, expressing their feelings for the Capital Hanoi.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, said that after its launch, the contest received enthusiastic responses from diplomatic officials, foreign students studying in Hanoi and overseas Vietnamese.
Many candidates have rich Vietnamese vocabulary, use fluent and emotional Vietnamese writing style, expressing their special love for the Capital.
There are contestants who have studied Vietnamese for many years and are considered Vietnamese by their teachers and friends. Many contestants consider Hanoi as their second home. Although their entries are not long, they all show their attachment to the land and people of the capital, and their understanding of the history, culture, and cuisine of this land of a thousand years of civilization.
From nearly 200 entries, the jury selected 50 excellent entries for the final round, from which they selected 1 Special Prize, 2 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes and 10 Encouragement Prizes.
The jury awarded the Special Prize to Professor, Dr. Ahn Kyong Hwan, Honorary Citizen of Hanoi with the work Hanoi is a golden star in my heart . The two First Prizes were awarded to Mr. Saadi Salama, Head of the Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Vietnam with the work Another Hanoi and contestant Mei Leng, Chinese nationality with the work Hanoi in my heart .

Also within the framework of the program, the Melody Festival “Echoes of the City for Peace” took place. Non-professional artists from member associations and organizations performed 15 unique music and dance performances imbued with national identity in many forms, receiving enthusiastic cheers from international and domestic audiences.
This is a playground for non-professional artists from member associations and organizations to meet, exchange, strengthen solidarity, consolidate and enhance the people's foreign affairs of the Capital.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 Consolation prizes, 5 Third prizes, 3 Second prizes for the performances. In particular, 2 First prizes belonged to the performances of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association of Hanoi City and the Special Prize was awarded to the UNESCO Association of Hanoi City.
