The National U.16 Women's Tournament has a new player at the last minute, promising an exciting competition.

On the morning of June 26, the Organizing Committee of the 2024 National U.16 Women's Football Tournament also held a technical meeting with the participation of representatives of the teams, supervisors, referees, and technical staff to ensure the tournament runs smoothly. The meeting was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; representatives of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.

The 2024 tournament will take place from June 27 to July 24 with 10 matches, with the participation of 5 teams: Phong Phu Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Thai Nguyen T&T and Vietnam Coal and Minerals. The teams will compete in a round robin for 2 rounds to calculate ranking points. The champion team will receive 100 million VND in prize money, the second and third place teams will receive 80 million VND and 50 million VND respectively. In the 2023 tournament, U.16 Phong Phu Ha Nam won the championship, U.16 Hanoi was the runner-up and Thai Nguyen T&T ranked 3rd.

The opening match will take place at 4 p.m. on June 27, between Phong Phu Ha Nam and Vietnam Minerals. Next, the U.16 Hanoi team will also compete with U.16 Thai Nguyen T&T.

Notably, the U.16 Vietnam Coal and Minerals women's team are new faces in the national U.16 women's tournament, having registered at the last minute. According to the team's coaching staff, the U.16 Vietnam Coal and Minerals team has been well prepared and is ready to conquer the challenge.

Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha welcomed the supervisors, referees and teams present in Hanoi to prepare for the tournament: “VFF always respects and appreciates the efforts of localities in maintaining and developing teams participating in tournaments, especially at the youth level.

The National U.16 Women's Football Championship is an important tournament, a playground for young players to practice and gain experience. At the same time, the tournament is also an opportunity for head coaches of national teams to find talent and nurture them to compete in regional and continental tournaments."

Also at the meeting, a representative of the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center affirmed that the facilities for the tournament have been carefully prepared and are ready to welcome the teams to compete.

In addition to the above information, VFF also said that the opening match between U.16 Phong Phu Ha Nam and newcomer U.16 Than Khoang San Viet Nam will be broadcast live on VFF's official channels.
