Bringing agricultural products to market through the San Viet e-commerce platform not only helps farmers proactively solve the output problem but also opens up a new and effective direction.


Moc Chau is not the only place in the country that produces vermicelli, however, with the secret and heart of the craftsmen, it has created the brand "vermicelli for everyone" - Kien Son vermicelli. In particular, thanks to the power of e-commerce platforms, Kien Son vermicelli has gone beyond Moc Chau Farm town, conquering the national market, becoming a typical rural industrial product.

Products are sold quickly thanks to San Viet

As Lunar New Year approaches, the cellophane noodle market is busier than ever. This year, Kien Son cellophane noodles have recorded a remarkable increase in the number of orders compared to the same period last year, even producing unable to meet market demand. Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Director of Kien Son Company Limited, said that sales have doubled thanks to digital business.

This shows the strong appeal of Kien Son vermicelli as well as the obvious effectiveness of bringing products to e-commerce platforms. According to Mr. Cuong, since 2021, the company has started introducing products on San Viet with the support of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province.

"At first, no one could have expected that vermicelli products could be consumed so quickly and reach so many consumers so far away," Mr. Cuong shared.

The cooperation with Son La E-commerce Platform (www.sonla.sanviet.vn) integrated into the Unified E-commerce Platform (Sanviet.vn) built and managed by the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy - Ministry of Industry and Trade has helped Kien Son vermicelli go beyond the limits of traditional markets, reaching a wider market nationwide. San Viet not only supports product promotion but also accompanies businesses in packaging and transportation, helping businesses reduce the burden and focus on production.

" The packing and shipping of goods is supported by San Viet at the production facility. San Viet staff directly supports proper packaging and picks up products for shipping. We only have to worry about production" - Mr. Cuong added.

In addition, the production process is closely monitored by Kien Son so that the product always achieves the goal of being clean and safe to the user. Thanks to that, Kien Son vermicelli receives the trust and high appreciation of consumers, in addition to the recognition from competent authorities, which marks the success of the enterprise.

In 2019, the company's products were certified by the Intellectual Property Office as the brand "Kien Son vermicelli", recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a typical rural industrial product, and were offered to many places inside and outside the province. In particular, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting continued to support the promotion of product brands, displaying Kien Son vermicelli at fairs and trade promotion programs of the province, helping to connect the company with customers. By 2020, the company had achieved the title of typical rural industrial product at the regional level and OCOP product. In 2021, Kien Son vermicelli achieved national ISO 22000:2018 standard.

Notably, in the past, business connections were limited, so product consumption was not high, and the income of company employees was only 3-3.5 million VND/person/month. However, the business picture has changed significantly since the company put its vermicelli products on the e-commerce platform.

" Not only has the output of goods increased, but the company's employees have also paid more attention to other issues that they had never thought of before, such as applying traceability stamps, cashless payments, online marketing, etc. " - Mr. Cuong said.

The representative of the unit operating the e-commerce platform San Viet said that the most difficult thing for farmers is that when they have products, they sell them in the traditional way, accessing information technology and reaching new customers is very difficult. Therefore, San Viet has been and will help farmers, businesses and cooperatives with OCOP products in Son La province, especially in the city, to access new business forms on the e-commerce trading platform.

Continue to bring many strong agricultural products to e-commerce platforms

Son La is making significant strides in socio-economic development, especially through the branding of agricultural products. In recent years, the province has launched many agricultural product brands, typically Kim Son vermicelli. This product not only brings economic efficiency, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, but also helps increase income and create a stable life for local people. In addition, Son La is also promoting the development of enterprises and cooperatives, with an impressive number of over 3,250 enterprises and 806 cooperatives operating in the area.

It is worth noting that these enterprises and cooperatives have begun to apply information technology and e-commerce to production and business activities at different levels. This is a positive signal showing that Son La is gradually modernizing the economy, moving towards sustainable development.

Mr. Nguyen Van Bac, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province, said that in recent years, the forms of introducing and promoting agricultural products of Son La province have been very diverse, organized and implemented through many effective forms, notably the coordination to bring agricultural products of the province to the unified e-commerce platform Sanviet.vn.
