Gia Tran strives to achieve advanced new rural standards

To strive to achieve advanced new rural standards in 2023, Gia Tran commune (Gia Vien) is currently actively urging and focusing many resources to implement unfinished criteria.

Identifying the program of building new rural areas as meaningful in improving the material and spiritual life of the people, the Party committees at all levels, the government, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations of Gia Tran commune have focused on propaganda, mobilization and dissemination of the Party and State's policies and guidelines so that all classes of people understand and enthusiastically participate.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 6, said: The village has 264 households and 724 people. In addition to the agricultural production force, many households in the village also operate in the field of commercial services. In recent years, many households have moved from other places to live in the village... These are certain difficulties when implementing programs in the area. However, with the determination to build the village into a model advanced residential area, the Party Cell and the Village Development Board hold meetings, propose initiatives for implementation and go to each house to propagate, mobilize, send invitations clearly stating the significance of the movement being implemented...

Thanks to that, many households and individuals have raised their awareness and responsibility to participate in the program. With both spiritual and material resources, the movement to build advanced new rural areas in the village has become more vibrant. At this time, the village is focusing on completing the cultural house facilities.

Gia Tran commune has 6 villages, 2,252 households with 7,337 people and is a locality in the cluster of communes implementing Gian Khau urban planning. By mid-August 2023, the commune had basically completed the criteria. In particular, the average income per capita reached over 68 million VND/year, the multidimensional poverty rate decreased to 0.13%, of which the number of poor households according to the new rural criteria was 17 households, accounting for 0.75%. In 2023, Gia Tran strives to have 3 residential areas meeting model new rural standards.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ha, Chairman of Gia Tran Commune People's Committee said: At this time, Gia Tran is urging the implementation of many tasks. Construction units continue to complete, upgrade and expand a number of projects such as: building drainage ditches, expanding inter-village roads 4,5, drainage system for people, sidewalks on both sides, upgrading the main road surface from National Highway 1A to Cung Que communal house, drainage system, upgrading the road surface of village 1 from National Highway 1A to the junction with Road 30...

Along with that, renovate the campus, upgrade and renovate the campus of the cultural house and sports ground, continue to complete the investment items of the cultural houses and sports grounds of villages 2, 3, 4, 5. Review and supplement the cultural houses of the villages to ensure serving the cultural and sports activities of the people. Renovate and embellish the relics of communal houses, temples and pagodas, protect and promote cultural values.

Gia Tran strives to achieve advanced new rural standards — The Steering Committee for New Rural Construction of Gia Tran Commune came to check the progress of implementing the criteria.

The Steering Committee for the construction of advanced new rural areas of the commune went to each village to propagate, mobilize and urge people to join hands in implementing the program. Hundreds of meters of painted walls were completed, many flower roads were formed. Many villages have been installing outdoor sports equipment at public places suitable to the local situation, serving people to practice to improve their health and organize cultural and artistic activities, preserve and promote national identity, attracting people from all walks of life to participate.

Regarding environmental criteria, the commune is implementing a project to collect, transport and treat waste for the period 2021-2025. All villages and hamlets have collection teams, with a collection frequency of 2-3 times/week and transported to a temporary staging area. The commune also strengthens propaganda to raise awareness of compliance with environmental sanitation regulations and ensure food safety for production and business establishments and households. Comply with the planning of concentrated livestock areas and aquaculture areas to ensure environmental sanitation. Continue to develop a model of waste classification at source to reduce the volume of household waste generated, gradually build environmental regulations, and reuse organic waste as biofertilizer in the area.

Thanks to the State's support capital, together with the cooperation and efforts of the people, Gia Tran has had more new projects invested in and built towards the advanced NTM standards, creating favorable conditions for trading, commerce and people's daily life. Thereby, people's lives are constantly improved and enhanced. Gia Tran commune strives to achieve the advanced NTM standards in 2023.
