Nearly 2,200 athletes participate in the Provincial School Sports Tournament

On April 12, at Le Trung Kien Gymnasium (Tuy Hoa City), the Department of Education and Training held the opening ceremony of the School Sports Tournament for the 2024-2025 school year. 2,190 athletes are students from 42 units, including 9 Departments of Education and Training and 33 high schools participating.

Accordingly, from now until April 22, athletes will compete in 8 sports: football, volleyball, basketball, swimming, athletics, shuttlecock, badminton and table tennis and compete at 7 locations: Le Trung Kien Gymnasium, provincial stadium, Tuy Hoa City multi-purpose gymnasium, Phu Yen University, Tran Quoc Toan Secondary School, Nguyen Hue High School, Phu Yen Youth Activity Center swimming pool.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Vo Thi Minh Duyen, the School Sports Tournament is not only a competition for young people in the field of physical education and sports, but also an opportunity for the education sector to comprehensively recognize and evaluate all aspects of education in schools, discover outstanding factors and sports talents to nurture and contribute to the province and the country. From this tournament, the Department of Education and Training will select the best students from each subject to participate in the National Student Sports Tournament organized by the Ministry of Education and Training in Hue City from June 9 to 16, 2025.
