After nearly 10 years of construction, Ba Son station (District 1) - one of 3 underground stations of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien urban railway line has been basically completed.
Ba Son Station is designed underground, 240m long, 34.5m wide, about 20m deep, including 2 floors. In which, floor B1 includes passenger service equipment (waiting hall, ticket vending machine, automatic toll gate, etc.), passenger information room.
Ba Son station is designed with modern architecture and youthful colors. In particular, Ba Son station is located right on the bank of Saigon River, so the ceiling design has wavy details, symbolizing Saigon river and water.
Along with that, the lower floor B2 has walls painted mainly in blue, combined with "ceiling waves" to create a clear highlight of the river image, so that people just need to come, look at the architecture and design to know that they are at Ba Son station.
Floor B2 is the platform, where trains stop to pick up and drop off passengers.
The rail system has also been completed, ready to welcome the metro train.
Ba Son underground station is also the last underground station before transferring to the elevated section.
The above ground has also been landscaped. After 100% completion, this infrastructure will be handed over to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to develop and complete the landscape according to the city's plan.
Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line) has a total length of 19.7 km, including 2.6 km underground and 17.1 km elevated with 14 stations, 3 underground stations and 11 elevated stations. The total investment after adjustment is 43,700 billion VND. The project has a route passing through districts 1, 2, 9, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc City (HCMC) and Di An (Binh Duong), expected to be put into commercial operation in the second quarter of 2024.
