Chairman Puan Maharani affirmed that the Indonesian People's Representative Council always supports the Government in strengthening relations with Vietnam, emphasizing the importance of enhancing people-to-people exchanges as a foundation for long-term friendship for bilateral relations; promoting the strengthening of relations between Indonesian political parties and the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed that Vietnam and Indonesia are two countries with important roles in ASEAN, are reliable partners of each other, share many interests and similar views. The two sides need to make efforts to further expand relations through the Party, Government, National Assembly, people's organizations and localities, contributing to strengthening and consolidating the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the coming time.
General Secretary To Lam and President Puan Maharani highly appreciated the comprehensive, positive and effective relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Indonesian People's Representative Council in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks in recent times; agreed that the two sides need to continue to promote and expand cooperation in all fields, including regular exchanges of high-level delegations and affiliated committees, and promote the activities of friendship congresses of the two countries, in order to promote cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two legislative bodies.
The two leaders also agreed that the two sides will continue to increase information exchange and closely coordinate and support each other in international and regional forums.
The General Secretary hoped that the Indonesian People's Representative Council and the Vietnamese National Assembly, as representative bodies of the two countries' people, would continue to make more active and stronger contributions to the development of the friendship, multi-faceted cooperation and the Vietnam-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

President Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin affirmed that in his position, he will strive to promote his role and actively contribute to promoting multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries, including sharing experiences in monitoring government activities and promoting cooperation between localities of the two countries.
The two leaders said that promoting cooperation between central and local state power agencies and between friendship parliamentary groups of the two countries will contribute to improving the operational efficiency of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Indonesian legislative bodies.
At the meeting with Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani, General Secretary To Lam and Mr. Ahmad Muzani agreed that the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly need to continue to increase exchanges of high-level delegations and affiliated committees, regularly exchange information, cooperate and support each other at international and regional parliamentary forums.

The two sides affirmed that the relationship between the two legislative bodies is an important element in the overall relationship between the two countries; they hope that the legislative bodies of the two sides will continue to make positive contributions to the development of the friendship, multi-faceted cooperation and the Vietnam - Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, through the development and promulgation of legal documents, creating appropriate mechanisms and policies to implement cooperation in all fields, especially economics, trade and investment between the two countries.
