In the field of Industry and Trade, this year, the provincial functional units coordinated to implement many trade promotion activities, bringing remarkable results. Through that, Binh Thuan's OCOP products also had the opportunity to promote their brands, link production and business, and expand consumption markets inside and outside the province. For example, this year, Binh Thuan Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion Center organized 3 Vietnamese goods fairs in rural, mountainous and island areas in the province: in Phu Quy (April 2023), Bac Binh and Ham Tan (July 2023). For the domestic trade promotion program, Binh Thuan Industry and Trade also coordinated to organize or actively participated in a number of exhibitions, Festival fairs, OCOP fairs, etc. held in provinces and cities, at the regional level.
Notably, at the 2023 Binh Thuan Province Industry and Trade Fair - OCOP Products taking place from October 19 to 25 in Phan Thiet City, more than 100 organizations and enterprises nationwide registered to participate with 248 booths (including 56 booths of key products, OCOP products, tourism products, typical rural industrial products of Binh Thuan province). According to the Organizing Committee, this fair attracted about 60,000 visitors to visit and shop, and the average revenue of participating units is estimated at billions of VND. Thereby creating favorable conditions for businesses to contact, exchange, promote and introduce goods, services, brands, especially OCOP products. At the same time, it also seeks opportunities for joint ventures, investment cooperation, and expanding product consumption markets to help production and business enterprises develop more and more...
As for the 23rd Vietnam - China International Trade Fair 2023, which took place last month (from November 10 to 15) in Lao Cai, it had a scale of 529 standard booths and 88 exhibition areas. Of which, Vietnam participated with 349 booths of 165 enterprises from 50 provinces and cities across the country, China had 156 booths and 8 other countries participated with 24 booths. It is known that Binh Thuan participated in this fair with a scale of 6 booths, including 4 standard booths and 2 booths displayed at the centralized exhibition area. Mainly introducing fresh dragon fruit and products processed from Binh Thuan dragon fruit, products from bird's nest, OCOP products, typical products of the province... Besides, it also increases the provision of information, invites product trials, sends brochures introducing businesses for partners to research, learn and exchange information towards promoting product consumption. As a result, some businesses of the province such as Binh Thuan Sustainable Production and Consumption Ecosystem Cooperative, Yen Nhat Vuong Production - Trading - Import Export Company Limited have signed contracts with domestic and foreign businesses.
According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, the OCOP program has contributed to the transformation from small-scale agricultural production to production in the direction of value chain linkage, with traceability... Through the OCOP program, many localities have planned specialty raw material areas, thereby creating conditions for the development of rural industries and traditional craft villages... In fact, in recent times, the province's OCOP products participating in exhibitions and introductions at fairs have been focused on improving quality and packaging designs to meet the tastes and needs of consumers. Therefore, in the coming time, trade promotion work needs to be focused on and supported with funding to implement activities that bring practical results, thereby continuing to bring Binh Thuan OCOP products further and further...
