(Baoquangngai.vn) - Through many historical periods, cooperatives in the province have continuously grown, actively contributing to the economic and social development of the country in general and Quang Ngai in particular.
On the afternoon of April 8, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance held a ceremony to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Cooperative Day (April 11, 1946 - April 11, 2025).
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition, affirmed the great role of the collective economy and cooperatives over the past 79 years, and at the same time aroused the spirit of solidarity, creativity and will to rise of hundreds of thousands of cadres and members of cooperatives in the cause of building an increasingly prosperous and civilized homeland.

From the first two cooperatives established in 1977, by March 2025, the province had 325 cooperatives with more than 292,000 members. The total number of regular employees in cooperatives was more than 3,850 people. The average revenue of cooperatives reached 2.1 billion VND/year, the pre-tax profit of cooperatives averaged 120 million VND/cooperative; the average income of cooperative members reached 62 million VND/person/year, the average income of workers was 56 million VND/person/year.

Through many historical periods with ups and downs, cooperatives in the province have continuously grown, contributing positively to the economic and social development of the country in general and Quang Ngai in particular. In particular, in recent years, more and more new-style cooperatives have been established, operating more effectively. Cooperatives have promoted the application of science and technology in production and business, expanded markets, improved labor productivity, output and product quality. The activities of cooperatives not only help improve income for members, but also contribute significantly to restructuring the agricultural sector, building new rural areas and developing the local economy.

To be worthy of the glorious tradition of the past 79 years and to reach new heights in the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the provincial Cooperative Alliance system has proposed many key solutions and tasks. In particular, focusing on innovating management and production models; promoting the application of science and technology, improving the quality of human resources, promoting international integration, towards sustainable development.

On this occasion, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded Certificates of Merit to 13 collectives and 1 individual with outstanding achievements in performing tasks in 2024; the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag to 1 collective, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 collectives with outstanding achievements, leading in the emulation movement in the Provincial Cooperative Alliance in 2024.
