Continue to innovate for development
Although there are still a few weeks left until the end of 2024, many provinces and localities with strengths in sea tourism are currently planning to upgrade their facilities and exploit new tourism products. It is promised that in 2025, Vietnam's sea tourism will become increasingly attractive to domestic and foreign tourists.
At the Phu Yen Tourism Development Conference held in October, a representative of the Phu Yen Department of Transport said that transportation is one of the three main areas of tourism, including travel, accommodation and transportation. Transportation is the "hub" connecting all tourism activities. Therefore, proactively prioritizing the synchronous development of transportation infrastructure will increase competitiveness and effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the province.
Accordingly, in the coming time, Phu Yen province will mobilize and allocate capital to dynamic projects with spillover effects such as: expanding Tuy Hoa Airport to a capacity of 3 million passengers/year, increasing flight frequency, promoting the opening of new flight routes to a number of provinces and cities in the country and internationally; the railway will upgrade and expand the North-South railway passenger terminal, build feeder roads along the railway, complete the development plan of the Tuy Hoa - Tay Nguyen railway and the urban railway through the province; the seaport will be upgraded to attract more cruise ships to Tuy Hoa city.
In Khanh Hoa, the provincial People's Committee is also planning to exploit and develop tourism in the Bich Dam area, a relatively unspoiled island village in Nha Trang. It is known that Bich Dam (Bich Dam residential group) or Bich Dam island village, located on Hon Tre island, about 15km from Nha Trang, is the farthest island village in the city. The area currently has about 200 households with nearly 1,000 people, living mainly by fishing and aquaculture.
According to the draft Project on Developing Green and Sustainable Community Tourism in Bich Dam, the goal is to recognize this place as a community tourism destination by 2025. By 2030, it will attract over 30,000 visitors (40% international visitors) to visit annually; creating regular jobs for about 500 workers.
In Ha Long City (Quang Ninh Province), the city is focusing on exploiting many other tourism products to develop year-round tourism. Sharing with the media, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ha Long City, said that in the coming time, the city will continue to focus on developing the heritage economy, making cultural and natural heritage become resources and driving forces for growth, creating breakthroughs in economic development, enhancing the value of local brands; building Ha Long into a city of flowers and festivals; developing the Ha Long tourism ecosystem.
