Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of March 30, 2025

According to statistics, last week domestic pepper prices fluctuated less than last week, trading mainly around 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg; the world market was stable, except for Indonesian pepper prices which decreased slightly last week.

Experts say that domestic pepper prices are currently stable thanks to farmers' hoarding mentality. Meanwhile, although pepper output this year is relatively stable, actual supply is still limited, causing local shortages in the market in some localities. Farmers currently tend to hold onto their goods waiting for prices to increase further, so selling pressure is not great.

According to experts' forecasts, pepper prices are likely to continue to increase due to demand from major markets and a shortage of supply. With demand remaining stable and far exceeding supply, pepper prices are likely to increase rather than decrease.

With factors such as scarce supply, stable demand and farmers' hoarding mentality, pepper prices are likely to remain high in the coming time. Export enterprises are also actively purchasing to ensure the supply of goods for foreign partners, creating favorable conditions for domestic pepper prices.

In the international market, pepper prices may continue to increase, especially black pepper, thanks to strong demand from major markets.

According to forecasts, world pepper output in 2025 may drop sharply to about 434,000 tons, while demand far exceeds supply. If this trend continues, pepper prices may continue to remain high in the coming time. However, some factors such as fluctuations in demand from China or the trend of farmers hoarding goods will have a big impact on the market.
