Coffee price forecast tomorrow 1 3/2/2025
After a strong increase, coffee prices on two world exchanges simultaneously decreased due to strong speculative liquidation. Profit-taking pressure at the peak caused Arabica coffee prices to fall sharply, although they were still at a high level compared to the same period last year.
Speculators’ confidence in Brazil’s production next year has caused the coffee market to fluctuate in recent times, according to experts. The Crop Forecasting Agency of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture forecasts that Brazil’s 2025/2026 coffee crop will decline by about 4.4% compared to the same period last year, to a three-year low of 51.81 million bags.
Reuters news agency quoted a coffee expert as saying that there are two factors that will end the current price increase. First, Brazil and Vietnam need to have a high coffee crop year, which is forecast to not happen until August 2026. Second, demand from coffee consuming countries must fall sufficiently due to high prices.
Coffee traders are worried about low inventories in Brazil, which produces nearly half of the world’s Arabica coffee. Brazilian coffee farmers have already sold about 85% of their crop this year and are in no rush to sell more.
In the domestic market, coffee prices today (February 12) decreased slightly, with an average decrease of only 100 VND/kg. Experts believe that this is a technical decrease and is mainly due to speculators taking profits after prices increased too high. Therefore, it is predicted that today's slight decrease will create momentum for coffee prices tomorrow, February 13, 2025, to increase strongly again.
