Building a safe and healthy living environment and improving the quality of life for children is identified by the Quang Ninh Provincial Youth Union as one of the important tasks in protecting and caring for children; thereby helping children develop comprehensively both physically and mentally.

The Provincial Police Youth Union organized the Volunteer Soldier Day "For Beloved Juniors" 2023 in Dong Ngu commune, Tien Yen district.

According to Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Phuong Thao, activities to care for children continue to be innovated and created; encouraging children to compete in studying well through many intellectual playgrounds; promoting the construction of friendly schools, models, activities to train talents, nurture talents... thereby helping children to study and play safely in all aspects.

Responding to the Peak Day of Volunteers for Beloved Young Men, Quang Ninh youth simultaneously launched many meaningful activities for children; focusing on 3 main contents: Organizing recreational activities, creative experiences, equipping skills for children; organizing activities to protect, care for, and support children; building works and tasks "For Beloved Young Men".

Accordingly, the Youth Union at all levels has mobilized more than 200 gifts for children in difficult circumstances, donated 5 playgrounds for children with a total value of over 600 million VND; organized more than 50 propaganda activities on the Law on Children; organized medical examination and treatment activities; life skills classes, skills to prevent and combat abuse, injuries, drowning, and safety skills in the online environment. Youth teams in localities also organized inspections and posted warning signs in areas with high risks of drowning and injuries to children.

Typically, Ha Long City Youth Union awarded 1 playground project at Lan Be Park worth 150 million VND, 4 playground projects in wards and communes: Gieng Day, Ha Khanh, Hung Thang, Dong Son; received 100 English language scholarships from Ames Center worth more than 700 million VND. Tien Yen District Youth Union coordinated with the Provincial Police Youth Union to award 10 study corners, 25 gifts to children and students in difficult circumstances; screened and consulted on eye diseases for more than 300 children, students and people in Dong Ngu commune. The Provincial Agencies and Enterprises Bloc Youth Union also awarded 20 gifts to children in difficult circumstances worth a total of 10 million VND in Dong Tien commune (Co To district)...

In addition, to help children in difficult circumstances, the Youth Union at all levels also called for and mobilized socialization to build "Red Scarf" houses. This has promptly encouraged and motivated children to improve their lives, study well, and become good children and good students. Duong Ngoc Mai (Da Bac area, Phuong Nam ward, Uong Bi city) shared: I am very happy and excited to receive everyone's attention to help my family rebuild their house. This is a great encouragement to help me improve my studies.

It is known that Mai's situation is very difficult. Mai's father is mentally ill, her mother is in poor health, raising 3 children alone. The old house where Mai's family is living is seriously degraded. Sympathizing with the family's situation, Uong Bi City Youth Union coordinated with Phuong Nam Ward People's Committee to conduct a survey, calling on local departments, branches, and organizations, along with other kind-hearted units to join hands to support the construction of a "Red Scarf" house for Mai's family.

The house was completed in July 2022 with an area of ​​30m2, with a total cost of more than 130 million VND. Of which, Uong Bi City Youth Union supported 50 million VND, Phuong Nam Ward Youth Union supported 15 million VND, Quang Ninh Cement and Construction Company supported 10 tons of cement, Phuong Nam Ward Fund Mobilization Committee for the Poor supported 5 million VND, and the Ward Farmers' Association supported sanitary equipment worth 2.2 million VND.

Practical and effective programs and activities have contributed to enhancing the role of youth organizations and associations in caring for and educating children; helping them excel in their studies, learn to love and share.
