TKV: Removing bottlenecks, determined to break through in the second quarter

Vang Danh miners determined to be safe before entering production shift

In 2025, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company was assigned to exploit 3.8 million tons of coal - the largest coal output in the underground mining unit block. To achieve this goal, in addition to carefully preparing the production area from the end of 2024, in the months of the first quarter, taking advantage of favorable weather, the Company launched a peak emulation campaign Celebrating the glorious Party - Celebrating the Spring of At Ty, welcoming the Congress of Party cells towards the 24th Party Congress of the Company for the 2025-2030 term, which was actively responded by many workers and staff. At the end of the first quarter, the main production targets all met and exceeded the set plan, of which underground coal reached 931,000 tons, equal to 25.2% of the adjusted plan of TKV to increase underground coal output by 100,000 tons; the average salary income of workers reached 22.1 million VND/person/month.

Mr. Ho Quoc, Director of Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company, said: In the first quarter, the company has developed a plan and assigned it to production units, with the guiding viewpoint: Proactive - creative - flexible - decisive, concretized by 10 groups of solutions. The workshops have focused on directing and creating the best conditions for smooth production to exceed the set plan in conjunction with ensuring labor safety.

Along with boosting production, in the first quarter, TKV Group focused on directing units to maximize clean coal recovery, and at the same time, developed import and blending plans to meet consumption needs, especially for thermal power plants.

Coal consumption activities at Lang Khanh Port, Hon Gai Coal Selection Company.

As the main focal point in receiving, screening and consuming coal of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group in Ha Long area, in 2025, Hon Gai Coal Selection Company is assigned to consume over 11.2 million tons of coal. In the first quarter, Hon Gai Coal Selection Company purchased and imported 2.9 million tons of coal, reaching 26% of the yearly plan, and consumed 2 million 858 thousand tons of coal, reaching 25% of the yearly plan, promptly meeting the consumption needs of Thermal Power Plants.

Mr. Doan Huy Binh, Deputy Director of Hon Gai Coal Selection Company, said: To achieve the 26% consumption result in the first quarter, Hon Gai Coal Selection Company focused on directing departments and workshops to effectively implement production plans, operate vehicles and equipment flexibly, ensuring no production bottlenecks. At the same time, maximize the use of mechanization, automation, and computerization equipment; increase cost savings; ensure progress and quality of coal delivered to customers.

With the strong direction of the Group's leaders and the efforts of the units, at the end of the first quarter, TKV Group produced over 10.5 million tons of coal, of which 9.6 million tons were in Quang Ninh; and paid 4,900 billion VND to the budget in Quang Ninh, reaching 28% of the yearly plan.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Nam, Deputy General Director of TKV, Director of the Coal Production Operation Center in Quang Ninh directed the implementation of the coal production and consumption plan for April 2025.

In the second quarter, TKV strives to produce 10.5 million tons of clean coal, of which 10.2 million tons will be produced in Quang Ninh, and pay over VND5,200 billion to the budget in Quang Ninh; at the end of the first 6 months, production and business targets reached over 50% of the yearly plan.

TKV Deputy General Director Nguyen Huy Nam said: The Group is continuing to direct units to maintain production pace, ensure completion of production and coal consumption plans, and provide enough coal for electricity production in the second quarter as well as the whole year of 2025. At the same time, strictly control technical indicators, increase tunnel digging speed, prepare production areas; open-pit units accelerate the progress of tunneling and mining coal in the tunnel area; continue to focus on implementing occupational safety and hygiene well, ensuring safety in production. Complete storm prevention items and works before April 20; strive to fully complete the second quarter 2025 plan targets; in the first 6 months of the year, over 50% of the annual plan has been completed.      

Along with the efforts of workers and officials of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group, Quang Ninh province has been focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles for the coal industry, aiming to clear bottlenecks and considering this one of the important solutions to contribute to the province's economic growth in 2025.
