Welcoming the remains of Martyr Le Van Doan to his hometown Van Phong Nho Quan

On July 17, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Phong commune held a ceremony to receive, pay tribute to, and bury the remains of martyr Le Van Doan at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Van Phong commune (Nho Quan district).

Martyr Le Van Doan, born in 1956 in Cau Mo village, Van Phong commune. In May 1977, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, he volunteered to join the army. After a period of training, he was assigned to Platoon 1, Company 6, Battalion 5, Regiment 24, An Giang Provincial Military Command, stationed on the border area of ​​An Giang province and Cambodia.

One year after joining the army, in a battle against Pol Pot's army, comrade Le Van Doan fought steadfastly and heroically sacrificed himself on April 10, 1978. His body was buried and cared for by the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province at the An Giang Martyrs' Cemetery.

With many outstanding achievements, comrade Le Van Doan was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the unit and posthumously awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Medal.

Recently, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Ninh Binh province, An Giang province, Nho Quan district and the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of the province have participated in supporting and correcting incorrect information on tombstones, completing procedures to bring the remains of martyrs back for burial at the Martyrs Cemetery of Van Phong commune, Nho Quan district.   After nearly 50 years of sacrifice, right in July - the month of gratitude for wounded and fallen soldiers.

At the ceremony, representatives of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Nho Quan district, the Military Command of Nho Quan district, the Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee of Van Phong commune and the people burned incense, expressing deep gratitude and forever remembering the great contributions of martyr Le Van Doan who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
