The 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 12 to 16. This will be the 25th edition of the event. The 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will also serve as a qualifying round for athletes heading to the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The Vietnamese athletics team participated in the tournament with 20 athletes. However, the gold hopes such as Nguyen Thi Oanh and Nguyen Thi Huyen did not achieve good results. The Vietnamese athletics team ended the tournament with 1 gold medal (4x400m event) and 1 bronze medal (women's triple jump).
The Vietnamese athletics team won only 1 gold medal at the 2023 Asian tournament.
